Is this the new Bachelorette? Fans campaign for Grant's eliminated Bachelor contestant to head up next season

Monday's episode of ABC's The Bachelor saw Grant Ellis eliminate a fan-favorite contestant, many of whom are now vying for her to be the next Bachelorette.

Coming into Monday's episode, the 31-year-old day trader from Newark, New Jersey had just four women left - Dina Lupancu, a 32-year-old lawyer from Willowbrook, Illinois, Juliana Pasquarosa, a 28-year-old client service associate from Newton, Massachusetts, Litia Garr, a 31-year-old venture capitalist from Star Valley, Wyoming and Zoe McGrady, a 27-year-old tech engineer and model from Chester, Virginia, who now lives in New York City.

Fans were still stunned after last week's trio of eliminations - Alexe Godin, 27, Carolina Quixano, 28 and Sarafiena Watkins, 29 - who will all be back for next week's Women Tell All special episode ahead of the finale in two weeks.

Many of those same fans were just as stunned when Grant sent home Dina Lupancu on Monday, after a surprising twist during her Hometown visit.

No one in Dina's family - not her parents or any of her whopping 11 siblings - showed up, though Grant did meet with some of her best friends.

While no reason was given for the family pulling out, she did say it was, 'last minute,' with many fans praising her maturity after being sent home and many also publicly declaring that she should be The Bachelorette in the upcoming season.

Meeting a contestant's family is always a big part of the Hometown visit, and Grant got to meet at least someone from everyone's family, except Dina.

Zoe admitted she had a 'strained' relationship with her adoptive parents due to 'many vices,' telling Grant that he wouldn't be meeting them, though she did introduce him to her aunt, uncle and sister, after a bizarre wedding and proposal photoshoot.

Grant also got to meet Juliana's massive Italian family in Newton, and LItia's Mormon family in the Wyoming countryside, but things took a turn in Chicago for Dina's family.

She said her dad is, 'an ordained deacon' and he is, 'very into the church,' and, 'putting themselves out there' and appearing on the show was 'difficult for them.'

She added that 'the idea of his daughter being with a guy that's dating 25 women doesn't sit well with him.'

'I wanted you to meet them, but they will not be here and so we're not gonna... you're not gonna get to meet them,' Dina said, adding they don't have an issue with him.

Grant admitted in confession that, 'it's a little disappointing, her family isn't really approving of this whole journey,' adding he 'has feelings for her.'

They spent a fun day at a Chicago pumpkin patch with her friends, though Grant added in confession it was 'concerning' the family didn't show up, and it seemed ultimately that was enough to send Dina home.

After not giving her a rose, Grant sat down for a bit with Dina, admitting she is, 'an amazing woman' and he 'taught me what to look for in a woman.'

She added, 'I mean, you know what you want. You know what you're looking for. I think you're amazing and I will treasure the time we spent together and getting to know you and you've taught me a lot about myself that I'd never honestly thought that I could even learn in such a short amount of time.'

She said, 'I got really close with you and I really liked you and I told you that, but if you're seeing that with the other women, then you need to go with your heart and you need to go with what's best for you, and I hope you find exactly what you're looking for.'

They hugged as he walked her to the waiting car, and as she was being driven away, Dina didn't shed any tears like most women, as many fans praised her maturity and threw their support behind her to be named The Bachelorette.

ABC announced in February that The Bachelorette will skip a season and its return in 2025 was 'unlikely' though still not set in stone, with the network adding that the show is not canceled.

The Bachelor will return Monday, March 10 with the Women Tell All special where all of the contestants return, with the Fantasy Suites episode on March 17 and the finale on March 24, all at 8 PM ET on ABC.
