Lala Kent pulled out all the stops for her firstborn’s special day.
On Saturday, March 8, the Vanderpump Rules mom hosted an early birthday celebration for Ocean Kent Emmett, who turns 4 later this week. Lala provided a glimpse at the festivities on Instagram, reposting photos and videos of her daughter’s adorable party with their closest family friends.
Attendees included The Valley’s Brittany Cartwright and her 3-year-old son, Cruz Cauchi; Michelle Saniei Lally and her 4-year-old daughter, Isabella Bunny Lally; and Janet Caperna, who welcomed her first child with Jason Caperna in late 2023.
“Happy birthday sweet Ocean!” Janet captioned a video of the celebration.

Ocean’s party was held at The Sloomoo Institute, an interactive slime factory/event space in Los Angeles. As seen on Instagram, the party featured a Minions theme complete with beautiful balloon arrangements; a character actor; a three-tiered funfetti cake; and, of course, lots of slime.
Hours after the party wrapped, Lala returned to Instagram to share a quick update on the birthday girl, whom she shares with her ex-fiancé. She posted a video of her walking into Ocean’s room only to find the preschooler sound asleep on her Disney Princess pillow.
“Birthday party was a success,” she wrote in the Story. “This is (almost) 4.”
Lala expands her family with baby No. 2
This year also marked Ocean’s first birthday as a bigger sister. Lala welcomed baby No. 2 — a girl named Sosa Kent — on September 3, 2024, just a day after her own birthday. The former SUR hostess opened up about her fertility journey on Vanderpump Rules Season 11, in which she explained her decision to conceive her second child through intrauterine insemination (IUI).
“I don’t want another baby daddy. It’s not happening. There’s no changing my mind,” Lala said in Season 11, Episode 7. “I know this is not ‘the norm,’ and I just feel like going the donor route is the right decision for me. I want an absolute with this baby. No matter what, this is my baby. No one can ever come in and take it from me. I don’t have to share it on Christmas Day. Just mine.”
Lala reflects on raising two daughters as a single mom
Months after giving birth to Sosa, Lala reflected on her experience as a single mom. She said she was repeatedly warned about the difficulties of raising two children solo, but quickly learned it wasn’t as hard as she assumed.
“Everyone prepared me for it to be a nightmare and to be really hard, so I was overly prepared for that,” she told E! News in November 2024. “Because of that, I’m actually very surprised on how easy the transition was. I think it also helps that Sosa is a dream baby. She is the coolest. I sometimes have to walk up to her to remind her, ‘I know you’re here,’ because she just chills, kicks it. I’m obsessed with this baby.”
And it seemed Ocean was also “obsessed” with her family’s latest addition.
“She’s killing it,” Lala said about her oldest daughter. “She saw this baby and immediately was her protector.”
