The Raiders defense took some lumps on Sunday, and Jack Jones had some words for the Raiders fan base after the game.
Another Sunday, another disappointing loss for the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders were simply outmatched by the Pittsburgh Steelers, losing 32-13 in a game the Raiders never really seemed to have a chance to win.
One of the most glaring struggles for the Raiders throughout the game was their defense. The unit looked strong at the beginning of the game, but as things wore on, and the offense sputtered, the unit started to get weaker.
Obviously, it was a frustrating game for Las Vegas, especially the defense. For Raiders cornerback Jack Jones, some of that frustrating leaked onto the social media platform 'X'.
Here, Jones is pretty clearly angered at the fanbase in general. He makes the point that fans get upset when players criticize them, but they feel free to criticize the players as much as they want. Honestly, he's not wrong here. Fans do often criticize players, and when a player speaks out, they get upset.
With that said, it's still not a good look. While it probably is extremely frustrating to have fans all over you on social media after a bad game, it never looks good to see players get mad at fans.
Jones had a pretty tough game on Sunday, which likely contributed to the frustration here. Jones had a solid pass breakup against George Pickens on the Steelers' second drive of the game, but things went downhill from there. He struggled to both tackle and cover through the rest of the game.
This isn't the first time the Raiders' fan base has had these instances with a player. Josh Jacobs is the most notable recent player to have a few of these disagreements, but it isn't uncommon with the fanbase.
However, when you lose consistently for 20 years, it's hard for the fanbase to act in a more positive light.
