Jake Paul is set to face legendary former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson later this year.

Many fans and pundits have raised concerns about Tyson entering the ring at 58-years-old against a fighter, albeit much less experienced, over 30 years his junior.

Those concerns were only heightened when ‘Iron’ Mike had to pull out of the original July date due to an ulcer flare-up.

“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover.

My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”

One man who believes the fight will never happen is fierce Paul rival and fellow YouTuber, KSI.

KSI last fought the only man to beat Paul, Tommy Fury, and also lost on the scorecards. The two have long been linked to a fight and, with the amount of money it would generate, it seems only a matter of time.

KSI told talkSPORT that they will make ‘an ordeal’ to cancel the Tyson fight and then he will be Paul’s only viable option left.

“Jake’s just getting heavier and heavier and heavier, obviously, because he’s just looking at the Mike Tyson fight – which I still don’t think is gonna happen.

I think they’re gonna try and make an ordeal, and then eventually Mike will realise he actually can’t fight, and then I don’t know what they’re gonna do then. But for me, the Jake fight, I’m just gonna wait. I don’t really need to chase him, eventually he’s gonna have no other options, but to have to come to me.”

Paul vs Tyson takes place on November 15 at the AT&T stadium in Texas and will be streamed live on Netflix.
