Jax Taylor was an OG member of Vanderpump Rules. His Kentucky wedding to Brittany Cartwright was filmed for Pump Rules. So, when Brittany and Jax announced that they were exiting VPR, something seemed off. Fans speculated that the couple may have been fired. Now Jax is revealing why he left Vanderpump Rules.
Jax Taylor’s Vanderpump Rules exit was due to “sabotaging”
Meanwhile, Jax recently revealed that he has been dealing with substance abuse issues for over 20 years. Now, he is sober and stars in The Valley with Brittany. Season 2 will document the couple’s divorce and learning curve for co-parenting their son, Cruz.
Well, Jax hosted VPR executive producer Alex Baskin on his podcast, In The Mind of a Man. “I think my final demise – which put the nail in the coffin for me – is towards the end. They wanted us to film at the beach, which was in Malibu. We all live in Hollywood,” Jax explained. “So I said that we can do the same scene at a park in West Hollywood. Like, why do we need to go to rush hour to get to Malibu to shoot a five-minute scene, which is going to take two hours to get there?” He added that he was “micromanaging production.”
Jax continued, “They wanted us to go to the beach and help clean – which is fine – but I just was not f*cking doing it. I was not going to drive three hours and that’s when I needed a piece of humble pie.” So, Jax made his final stand about … traffic?
However, Alex pointed out a critical detail that Jax forgot. “So because that’s what got to us, is you were being a pain in the ass about it and you were saying, ‘I’m not going to go, this is so stupid,'” Alex stated. “Then you were texting other people. So then, of course, we saw those texts and were like, ‘Can you believe Jax is sabotaging the production?’”
Of course, Jax has regrets about his actions. “It was such a dumb ass move,” he admitted. “I feel like that was my nail in the coffin because I’ve rubbed [the producers wrong] throughout the years.”
Vanderpump Rules is streaming on Peacock.
