From going no-contact with their mom, to going against their MTV contract, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, Teen Mom OG and Teen Mom 2 news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.
Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…
Jenelle Evans Reveals She’s Feuding with Her Mom Barbara (Again)

More than a month after Jenelle Evans publicly blamed her mom Barbara Evans for things that her estranged sister Ashleigh Evans Wilson said about her online, the fired ‘Teen Mom 2’ claims she’s (still) mad at her mom for reasons she refuses to share. Previously, Jenelle and her mom had been enjoying a bit of a reconciliation, with Barbara even checking on Jenelle’s North Carolina property The Land to help out Jenelle, who now lives in Las Vegas.
During a recent TikTok Live, Jenelle told fans that she and Barb are “not talking again,” before going on to claim that she won’t be making an effort to “fix things with her.”
“ … You guys don’t even know what just– you don’t know what’s been going on,” Jenelle stated. “You wouldn’t be saying that if you knew what was going on, but I’m not gonna spread all that business.”

As ‘Teen Mom’ fans know, Jenelle and Barb have had one rollercoaster-from-hell of a mother-daughter relationship over the years, despite the fact that Barb took over parental duties and raised Jenelle’s first child, Jace, until he was nearly 14 years old.
In 2023, Barb signed custody back over to Jenelle because she was unable to handle Jace’s behavior, though Jenelle and her mom have continued to have their ups and downs, with Jenelle often taking her gripes about her mom public via social media rants.
As The Ashley reported, after Jenelle’s sister Ashleigh took to social media in June, claiming that Jenelle was “spiraling” and doing things–unbeknownst to the public– that were affecting her family members, Jenelle denied the claims before going on to blame her mom, both publicly and privately.

“Now I’m spiraling out of control according to Ashleigh and I’m literally on vacation with my kids…I don’t understand wtf her problem is,” Jenelle wrote in a text to her mom, which was later posted to her Instagram Story. “Now it’s another article. This is why I don’t talk to any of you.”
Jenelle also added her own message to the post.
“Friends are closer than family, let me repeat again,” she wrote. “Keeping my distance per usual.”

Amanda Conner Responds After Being Criticized for Posting Videos of Ryan Edwards’ Kids with Ex Mackenzie

Ryan Edwards recently went on a supersized family vacation to Florida— that included his parents, all four of his kids and two out of three of his baby mamas! When his fiancé Amanda posted videos and photos from the trip— including one of her at a restaurant with Stella (the daughter of Ryan and his soon-to-be-ex-wife Mackenzie), her TikTok followers were quick to point out that Mack would probably not be thrilled to see her daughter in a video with Amanda.
(As The Ashley has previously reported, Ryan and Mack are still not divorced, and are currently in the middle of a very drawn out and very bitter divorce and custody battle.)
Anyway, Amanda made it clear that she was not concerned with how Mackenzie would feel about Stella being posted to Amanda’s TikTok. Amanda responded to a comment criticizing her for posting the video of Stella.
“Thankfully you’re not the [baby mama],” Amanda replied. “Either way I wouldn’t care .. this is MY man’s children & I love them as my own so I share the memories just as I would my own.”
Amanda has only been allowed to be around Stella (as well as Ryan’s son Jagger) since February, when a judge ruled that Amanda could be around the kids. That decision came after Mackenzie battled Ryan in court to keep Amanda from being allowed to be present while Ryan visited with Stella and Jagger.
In the comment section of her post, Amanda stated that her relationship with Stella has come along way in those few months.
“She loves you and I love y’alls relationship,” someone wrote, to which Amanda replied, “I know and I just love her so much!”
In another video posted from the trip, Amanda posed with Ryan’s first baby mama Maci Bookout, writing how much she loves her, too.
Cory Wharton Says MTV Threatened to Boot Him From ‘Teen Mom’ & ‘The Challenge’ If He Appeared on ‘The Traitors’

Cory rarely—if ever— says ‘no’ to an offer to be on yet another reality TV show. However, the ‘Teen Mom’ dad recently revealed how upset he was that MTV wouldn’t allow him to appear on the Peacock show ‘The Traitors’— unless he bid farewell to his cushy MTV gigs on ‘Teen Mom’ and ‘The Challenge!’
Cory recently answered a question he got on Snapchat about appearing on ‘The Traitors,’ complaining that he came very close to being on the show but his appearance was foiled by the powers that be at MTV.
“I got hit up to do ‘Traitors’ Season 1,” Cory said. “I was two days away from leaving [to film] and MTV called me and said, ‘You are not going on that show, if you like the two jobs we have you hired at, ‘Teen Mom’ and ‘The Challenge.’ Those were my two consecutive gigs, jobs that I had with MTV.” (The Ashley is pretty sure Cory meant to say ‘consistent’ here.)
“They’re like, ‘If you like two [gigs], then you’re not gonna go [on ‘The Traitors’],” Cory said. “I was like, ‘Well, two is better than one, and ‘Traitors’ isn’t a continuous show, while ‘The Challenge’ and ‘Teen Mom’ are reoccurring. It’s twice a year. I was winning, so I was like, ‘Alright, let me not go.'”

Cory said he was not happy that he was forbidden to go on the show.
“It definitely rubbed me the wrong way,” he said, adding that he fired off an email to MTV to let them know he was not happy about not getting to do ‘The Traitors.’
Cory was also upset after he received a response that he felt was unfitting of someone with his storied history with the network,
“They sent a very basic [response],” Cory said. “My email was very personalized. Very, like, me asking a favor. [It was me] letting the network know, ‘Hey I’m going to go do this show, I’m just giving you guys the heads up.’ The respect of you understanding that [my daughter] has open heart surgery and I need this quick cash.”

Cory stated that he was offered about $30,000 to appear on ‘The Traitors,’ so he thought, “I’m gonna go do this show for two-and-a-half or three weeks in Scotland.”
“And that’s when I got the phone call of them basically saying, ‘You’re not going to Scotland. You can’t do that show because it’s in competition with ‘The Challenge,'” he said.
As The Ashley has previously stated, Cory (and other cast members of these shows) sign contracts that almost always contain a clause that states they are aware that, by signing the contract, they are forbidden from doing another show, particularly ones that are similar to the show they are appearing on. Normally, these clauses last one year from the time the cast member last appeared on the show. In order to appear on another show, Cory would have had to get written permission from Paramount before he agreed to go on the show.

Regardless of why he wanted the cash, agreeing to appear on ‘The Traitors’ while still under contract for ‘The Challenge’ and ‘Teen Mom’ was a direct violation of his contract. (The Ashley will have plenty more about this very soon, by the way…)
In his Snapchat, Cory argued that ‘The Traitors’ “really wasn’t in competition” with ‘The Challenge’ because it was a new show at the time. He also revealed that he is “definitely open” to appearing on the show for a future season.
“I think the show really took off after CT [Tamburello] won, with Trishelle [Cannatella] and [Johnny] Bananas was on there on Season 2. It was ‘Challenge’ heavy,” Cory said. “And I think on Season 3 we got Wes [Bergmann].
“But, yeah, we need the young ‘Challenge’ vet to be on that thing,” Cory— who is 34 years old— insisted.
