Jesse Palmer revealed which Golden Bachelorette men he’d like to see as a lead on a possible Season 2 of The Golden Bachelor. Keep reading to find out his choice.
Will The Golden Bachelor Get Second Season?
Gerry Turner brought new life to the Bachelor Nation franchise. He made history as the first Golden Bachelor in 2023. The spinoff featured the retired restaurant owner, 72, seeking a second chance at love after his wife passed away in 2017. Many of the contestants were widows who were also looking for love later in life.
He chose Theresa Nist as his final rose winner and proposed during the season finale. The finale aired in November 2023 and the couple tied the knot in a TV special just two months later. But wedding bliss was short.
The two appeared on Good Morning America in April to share the news that they were ending their marriage after just three months. The divorce put a major stain on the franchise that doesn’t have a good track record to begin with.
ABC went ahead with plans for a Golden Bachelorette spinoff with Joan Vassos as the lead. But another season of The Golden Bachelor is still a huge question for the network. They did reveal that the Bachelor In Paradise spinoff returns in 2025 after a year off the air. Furthermore, Grant Ellis was named the Season 29 Bachelor and his season will air in January 2025.
Fans will have to wait to see if ABC renews The Golden Bachelor for another season or if Gerry Turner ruined the spinoff for good.
Jesse Palmer Reveals His Choice For The Next Lead
ABC has yet to reveal the fate of The Golden Bachelor. But Bachelor Nation host Jesse Palmer hopes it will happen. He has a unique perspective as host because he was once The Bachelor himself in 2004. His season didn’t end in an engagement, but he pursued a relationship with finalist Jessica Bowlin.
They broke up a few months after the finale. He married Emely Fardo in 2020 and they welcomed their first child in 2024. Jesse Palmer knows what it takes to be a lead in the franchise. He chatted with TV Insider about which of Joan’s suitors could be the next Golden Bachelor.
“I feel like it’s such an amazing cast of men, all with very unique backgrounds and stories,” he said. Mark Anderson and Charles Ling already have fans begging for them to be The Golden Bachelor.
But Jesse Palmer was diplomatic in his choice. He said, “Obviously, it remains to be seen how this is all going to play out, but I know there’s a lot of fan favorites at home already, and I think we got multiple people that would be great Golden Bachelors.”
If ABC doesn’t renew The Golden Bachelor, Jesse Palmer hopes there will be a Golden Bachelor In Paradise instead.
