Who has time to plan a wedding when you’ve got a Mirrorball Trophy to win? Apparently, that’s Joey Graziadei’s attitude right now as he competes on Dancing with the Stars. You can’t say that he isn’t taking this competition seriously.
The Bachelor alum recently confirmed that he and Kelsey Anderson have de-prioritized their wedding. However, we’re not sure if this is really about the dancing or if it’s just a convenient excuse to prolong their engagement.
DWTS trumps marriage for Joey Graziadei
For Dancing with the Stars Season 33, Joey got partnered up with Jenna Johnson. They kind of slayed Hair Metal Night, but Joey recently told Us Weekly that the competition has been getting “tougher and tougher.”
Kelsey Anderson Is Over Comments About Joey Graziadei and DWTS' Jenna
“I think it compounds a little bit as it keeps going on, but honestly I’m making it through,” Joey explained. “I’m just trying to take it every day.”
With that in mind, Joey confirmed that he and Kelsey aren’t focused on wedding planning. Just like DWTS, he is taking their engagement one day at a time, too.
“I think really right now our goal is to get through this dancing,” Joey admitted “Get settled where we’re gonna be living next. And then it’s gonna be to figure out a date, figure out location, get everything kind of cleaned up a little bit.”
Basically, they haven’t planned a single thing related to their wedding. He proposed during the Bachelor finale, and they’ve just been chilling ever since. If this is what it takes for them to ensure their relationship lasts, more power to them. We’ve seen enough Bachelor breakups to last a lifetime.
And if you need any reassurance that Joey and Kelsey’s relationship is still going strong, the Bachelor alum revealed that his next dance is all for her. For the upcoming Dedication Night on DWTS, he’ll be performing a Viennese waltz to “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. Apparently, that’s enough for Kelsey right now.
“It’s very special, honestly,” Kelsey told the outlet. “I love all his dances, but this one’s definitely gonna be extra special for me.”
Dancing with the Stars continues on Tuesday nights at 8/7c on Disney+ and ABC.
