Kailyn Lowry's son is celebrating his dad this Father's Day.
Elliott, 15, shared a throwback photo on his Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 15. In the photo, a younger Elliott, born Isaac Elliott Rivera, smiles next to his dad, Jo Rivera.
"Happy Father's Day! Love you 🫶," the teen captioned the post.
Earlier this month, the teen appeared on his podcaster mom's Barely Famous podcast, where he publicly revealed that he is gay for the first time. During the coming out conversation, he also shared that he prefers to be called Elliott, his middle name, and one that feels more fitting than his original first name.
The teen made the important step of standing up for himself in the earlier half of the conversation.
"I want to be clear that this is for me," the teen said of his appearance on the episode. "Let me have my moment. I'm really sick of people coming up with their own stories and putting things in their own words and things coming out on other people's terms about me, because my life isn't entertainment for other people."
"My life is my life and I can do what I want with it. And for people to take things from my life, like personal stuff, is not okay. If I want to share it, I should share that on my own terms."
Elliott showed support for both of his parents amid speculation from fans on how each might have reacted to their son's coming out. In part two of the conversation, Elliott said, "There are certain things that bother me, like when people talk about you, or my relationship with my dad. Like, just let me speak about it myself."
The teen said that commenters cross a line, noting, "You don’t need to say any of that…You don’t know me. You see me on social media and whatever, but you don’t hear me, you don’t know who I am unless I tell you. Unless I show you.”
