Amanda Batula is still working at Loverboy with her husband and brand founder, Kyle Cooke. But the Summer House couple's business relationship looks different these days as they prioritize their relationship and individual ventures.
Both Amanda and Kyle recently spoke to The Daily Dish, where they admitted that they "don't" find the balance between working together and marriage. "I mean, even on a personal level, finding the balance is tough," Kyle said.
This has caused both of them to take a "step back" from their working relationship in order to explore their passions, a new swimwear line with South Moon Under for Amanda and a DJ career for Kyle.
"Amanda had things that she wanted to pursue," Kyle shared. "I think that being in a pressure cooker that is a start-up puts a strain on any relationship, let alone a marriage."
Amanda agreed with her husband, noting that their personalities occasionally caused them to clash in the workplace. "We tried working together while being married, and we couldn't find that separation. It really spilled into our personal relationship," she said. "We're both very passionate. We both always think that we're right. So that became a little bit of an issue."
However, once Amanda started working at Loverboy less, things became a bit more balanced.
"I took a step back," she shared. "So instead of working day-to-day, I think the balance is that we're both able to work on things that we're passionate about. And then come together and help each other when necessary."
What is Amanda Batula's role at Loverboy?
Amanda still works at Loverboy, but she's less involved in the day-to-day operations and more involved in larger projects. "Now my involvement is like big-picture stuff," she explained. "So I'm hands-on on any new flavors, any new product lines, packaging...So I'm really directing more."
Amanda Batula opens up about the inspiration for her swimwear line
Amanda launched her new swimwear line on Tuesday, Feb. 18 with "three style tops, three style bottoms" and one in "two different color ways." In the same interview with The Daily Dish, Amanda opened up about what inspired her to create the line.
"I sort of ended up having this food theme, unintentionally, so this first drop is sort of cherry-focused," she explained. "It gives that all-American summer sort of feel with reds and whites. The vibe feels kind of old school and classic. And then as we go forward, there are other fruits and vegetables that have inspired the collection."
