Kyle Richards can now add "matchmaker" to her resumé — but The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills cast member hasn't necessarily been super successful at the job. During a recent livestream, Kyle revealed that she set up RHOBH alum and close friend Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave's dad, musician John Mellencamp, with one of her friends on a date. That friend? Jamie Sherrill, a celebrity skincare guru, who sat alongside Kyle during the livestream where they both recounted the hilarious matchmaking story.
"John was like, you know, set me up with someone, whatever," Kyle recalled on the Amazon Live stream. "And then Lisa Rinna was like, 'How about nurse Jamie?' That's how it happened, right?"
"Yep," Jamie said, nodding her head. "Lisa did that. And Teddi was like, 'Nooo. I am not doing that.'"
But, they did. "I dated him for a hot second," Jamie recalled, noting that she even got his initials tattooed on her wrist "two hot seconds" into their relationship. "But I lasered it off, so you can barely see it."
"OK, I thought the world was gonna end, it was Covid," Jamie said laughing, defending herself. Luckily the skin care nurse had her own lasers to help her get it off. "I knew it was gonna come off."
"I love John," Jamie noted. "He's the best."
Where Kyle Richards and Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave Stand Today
Kyle and Teddi have continued to be very close friends after Teddi appeared on RHOBH from Season 8 through Season 10. During an October appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kyle revealed the two BFFs she talks to every day — country music singer Morgan Wade and Teddi.
"I can tell you she is absolutely one of my best, best friends in the world, as well as Teddi," Kyle explained on the show. "We're all very close."
Teddi has also been on hand to support Kyle, who has been going through her separation from her husband, Mauricio Umansky, for the past year. "I think that in every marriage there are extreme highs and lows," Teddi told E! News in December 2023. "And I think the more people talk about it, the more we normalize the fight you have to do to stay together as a married couple. They've had an incredible journey."
"I love that entire family and I just want what's best for them," Teddi added.
