The Las Vegas Raiders are heading into the 2025 NFL season looking to finally get back to being a playoff contender. After another disappointing season last year, the Raiders brought in Pete Carroll to be their new head coach.
Along with the hiring of Carroll, the front office made some roster moves during the offseason as well.
Obviously, the big move of the offseason for Las Vegas was the trade with the Seattle Seahawks to acquire quarterback Geno Smith. It has been awhile since the Raiders had a quarterback with the talent that Smith possesses.
Other moves that the team made were the signings of cornerback Eric Stokes, running back Raheem Mostert, and safety Jeremy Chinn. Ashton Jeanty was the team’s first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
With that being said, Las Vegas has been linked to a huge blockbuster trade for a superstar defender.
Daniel Arwas of Heavy has suggested a trade that would send Dallas Cowboys superstar Micah Parsons to the Raiders.
Las Vegas Raiders Receive: Micah Parsons, 2026 Fourth-Round Pick
Dallas Cowboys Receive: 2026 First-Round Pick, 2027 First-Round Pick, 2027 Second-Round Pick
Needless to say, this would be a franchise-altering trade for both teams. Giving up Parsons would be a big step in the wrong direction for the Cowboys. However, they have not shown a willingness to give Parsons what he wants in a new contract just yet.
As for Las Vegas, the team would be acquiring the face of its defense. Parsons is one of the most feared defensive players in the NFL at this point in his career.
During the 2024 NFL season with Dallas, Parsons played in 13 games. He racked up 43 total tackles to go along with 12 sacks, two forced fumbles, and a defended pass. Pairing Parsons along with Maxx Crosby would give the Raiders one of the best pass rushing duos that the league has ever seen.
Expect to continue hearing speculation about Parsons moving forward. It’s still an unlikely scenario that the Cowboys would trade him, but if he does find his way onto the trade block, the Raiders should be one of the teams with interest in him.
