Las Vegas Raiders' recent coaching addition doesn't help what should be their master plan during the bye week

The Las Vegas Raiders shouldn't have hired Norv Turner to come in. In fact, I'm not sure why they did when their master plan was going exactly as planned. Well, their master plan should be to tank for as high of a pick as they can -- I'm not sure if they are doing that intentionally or if they are just that bad.

But their master plan should be to continue to lose games. They made a move that shows they want to try and win games. They are 2-7 now with games against the Miami Dolphins, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Atlanta Falcons, and the Los Angeles Chargers left on their schedule. So, it won't be exactly easy, or maybe even possible, to make the playoffs from here on out.

The Las Vegas Raiders Are an Inspiration to Screwups

They would need to win every game left, and even still they could miss the playoffs because the Chiefs, Broncos, and Chargers could all be better still. So, why make changes? Why make a change that you think will make you better when there is really no season left to salvage?

The Raiders fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, whose scheme really wasn't great, and the play-calling wasn't helping either. They also let go of quarterback coach Rich Scangarello and offensive line coach James Cregg.

After that, they hired Norv Turner, Scott Turner's father and former Raiders head coach, as an offensive assistant. This is one more experienced head coach on this staff to help Antonio Pierce navigate what has been a tumultuous season.

The hire sounds good -- he's coming on to help his son, Scott Turner, navigate being the interim offensive coordinator. This is a move that a team on the brink of being good would make. So, for the Raiders, in a way, this is a bad move, because I really do think this will make the Raiders offense better.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but they should have kept everything the same, so they can keep losing games. This team desperately needs a high pick to get their quarterback of the future.
