Lindsay Arnold might not be part of Dancing With The Stars this year, but fans have still spotted her in the audience from time to time. She’s there to support her friends and cheer on her youngest sister Rylee Arnold. It’s Rylee’s sophomore year as a pro and she and her partner Stephen Nedoroscik just earned their spot in the semifinals.
However, this year’s competition is incredibly stiff. Rylee and Stephen have been fan favorites all season long, even if there are other teams who score higher. Do they have what it takes to win the Mirrorball Trophy?
Lindsay Arnold thinks the finale will boil down to one key element.
Professional Dancer Lindsay Arnold Thinks Fans Will Pick The Winner
Lindsay Arnold has one Mirrorball Trophy under her belt. Now, she’s passing the torch and hoping her little sister Rylee will get her chance at the championship.
But if Rylee Arnold and Stephen Nedoroscik want to win, they’ll need a little help from their fans.
“I think what has happened this season — it’s always important, but I think more than ever — the voting is what is making the decision,” Lindsay shared in a new interview with Us Weekly. “In the past, scores have been a little bit more [weighted],” but this season, “It’s emphasizing how much [fan] vote[s] matters, and how you’ve gotta get out there.”
“The way that the scoring has been, it’s kind of leaving everything open in the air, and it really does come down to audience vote,” the mother of two continued.
Naturally, Lindsay is rooting for Rylee and Stephen to take home the Mirrorball Trophy. But she added that she loves the fact fans’ votes ultimately determine the winner.
“There’s a reason people tune in and it’s because they have their favorites, so it will be cool to see,” she shared.
Rylee Arnold & Stephen Nedoroscik Prepare For The Semifinals
During the semifinals, Rylee and Stephen have two routines. Next Tuesday, they’ll perform:
- Tango to “Sweet Disposition” by The Temper Trap
- Cha-cha-cha to “Bailar” by Deorro featuring Elvis Crespo
Olympic gymnast Stephen Nedoroscik may not be the most technically correct dancer, but viewers love his spirit and jovial nature. If Lindsay Arnold is right, he and Rylee can easily secure enough votes to keep advancing in the competition. Perhaps they’ll even come in first place after all.
