Love Is Blind Season 8: The Real Reason Alex Didn't Propose to Madison

Alex Brown was not blind to the issues within his relationship.

Although the real estate broker narrowed down his connections on Love Is Blind season eight to Madison Errichiello, he surprisingly did not propose to her at the end of their time in the pods.

Now, he's explaining why he didn't get down on one knee on the reality show, which premiered Feb. 14 on Netflix.

"We were just on different pages," Alex exclusively told E! News' Francesca Amiker. "We realized that a couple times throughout the pod dates, that we just have different styles of communication and we just realized that we were not super compatible. We just decided to go our separate ways."

And he doesn't believe Madison’s connection with fellow contestant Mason Horacek affected their dynamic too much.

"I enjoyed our connection in the pods a lot," the 29-year-old noted. "I think she was trying to be authentic with the two of us."

Still, Alex acknowledged why it's hard to date multiple people on Love Is Blind.

"It's just overall really challenging when you're in the situation to navigate all the different people and the dates," he shared. "I know it's easy to judge when you're watching it on Netflix, but it's really difficult. You have all these people that you really connect with, and then you have to narrow it down to one, and you have to be careful about what you say, and there's so many things to consider."

However, his experience with the artist did help him learn more about what he's seeking in a relationship beyond physical appearance.

"I'm just looking for someone that's genuine and kind, someone that I can just be a life partner with, and just go through life in a very authentic way and be kind to everyone," Alex told E!. "That's really the main thing I'm looking for. Obviously, looks don't really matter to me. It's great if they're attractive or not, I'm totally fine with it."

New episodes of Love Is Blind drop on Netflix Feb. 21.
