Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Maks Chmerkovskiy has shared a bit of an update on how things are going with wife Peta Murgatroyd. Things have been very busy at home, but Chmerkovskiy carved out some time to be interviewed on the “Lightweights” podcast.
“I would not want to do this with anybody but Peta,” Chmerkovskiy said on the December 23 episode. “In the good times and the bad times. When she’s frustrating…when she can’t believe she did this and not that… In the best of times, I look at her and I’m like, I cannot believe that she’s doing all this the way she is,” he added.
“Throughout all of those, I would never want to do it with anybody but. I don’t know what the future holds, but , you know, this relationship is definitely not, you know, another one of those, like, ‘maybe it will work, maybe it won’t.’ We committed for the right reason. I’m not looking at this like, ‘if it won’t work, there’s always divorce,'” he continued.
“I just want to do this life thing with Peta,” Chmerkovskiy said.
Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd are parents to three boys; 7-year-old Shai, 1-year-old Rio, and 6-month-old Milan.

Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd marked a major milestone in their marriage over the summer. The two celebrated their 7-year wedding anniversary and posted about it on social media.
“I guess the 7th year itch didn’t happen?? haha,” Murgatroyd captioned an Instagram post in July 2024.
“I [love] you @maksimc …7 years married & 10 years together. Thank you for flirting with me way back in 2012 and putting the moves on me to get us 3 children, a dog and a beautiful life,” she added.
Chmerkovskiy also posted a tribute to his wife in honor of their special day.
“7 years married! Here’s to another 70 with you my love! Hottest bride I’ve ever seen and easily the best party I’ve ever been a part of,” he wrote.

In addition to figuring life out as a family of five (not including the family’s dog, Hachi), Chmerkovskiy and Murgatroyd also started their own reality-type series.
