Mark Ballas Teases New Projects With Wife, BC Jean

Former “Dancing With the Stars” pro Mark Ballas and his wife, BC Jean, have big things happening in 2025.

“My wife BC & I have been working on a lot of new stuff this year while simultaneously being in full time Mum + Dad mode & we are really looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2025,” Ballas captioned a post on his Instagram Stories on December 30, 2024.

Ballas also included a link for fans to subscribe to a mailing list “to be the first to know about what’s coming.” The ballroom pro didn’t elaborate, but seemed excited for what’s to come.

Mark Ballas & BC Jean May Release New Music

One thing that Ballas is passionate about is making music. On the November 25, 2024, episode of the “Lightweights” podcast, Ballas shared that he and Jean — who are in a band together — recorded a lot of music in their home studio after welcoming their first child together in late 2023.

“That whole time for this first year, we’ve been writing and recording, and we have a lot of material on the hard drive, a lot,” Ballas said.

“So we just have to now like go in and be like, ‘I like that, don’t like that, like that, don’t like that.’ Let’s finish these five or 10, and maybe there’ll be an EP or an album at some point next year,” he added.

Ballas also said that he and Jean would like to go on tour.

“Now we have a lot of new material that we’re genuinely like listening to, and be like, oh, I love these songs, I love these songs, you know, so yeah. And then also, but now we’re parents too, so it’s like we have to find a way of being able to go play those shows and have our son with us and do all that,” he said on “Lightweights.”

The couple’s pop rock band is called Alexander Jean. The name was created using both Ballas and Jean’s middle names, “Alexander” and “Jean” respectfully.

Mark Ballas Is Unlikely to Return to DWTS to Compete for a Mirrorball Trophy

For fans hoping to see Ballas back in the ballroom for season 34, it probably won’t happen. Ballas has said that he feels as though he’s done competing on the show.

On the December 2 episode of the “Trading Secrets” podcast, Ballas explained his feelings on the matter.

“As of now, I feel like the competitive side is closed,” Ballas said.

“After Charli [D’Amelio], I voiced those words of like, I’m retiring as a professional. Just from the 10 weeks of competing, 20 seasons, I feel like was a lot. And also like a monumental time in my life. You know, before Charli’s season, my wife and I had been trying for family. And now we have a son, and there’s just a lot of other things that I’m excited about right now. Number one, being a dad.
You know, so as far as being a pro, I’m very much so a never say never person. I’m always open to a conversation. But as of now, I couldn’t see myself competing,” he added.
