Meghan McCain proposes a 'Real Housewives of Scottsdale': 'It's like Beverly Hills in the desert'

Have you ever wanted “The Real Housewives of Scottsdale”? You’re not the only one.

Meghan McCain wants it too.

On the Tuesday, June 11, episode of the podcast “Reality With the King” titled “Dear John….RHONJ Recap with Meghan McCain,” she talked to Carlos Reginald King about wanting a Real Housewives of Scottsdale series.

“I also think Real Housewives of Scottsdale would be an untapped market as well,” McCain said. “Because Scottsdale is like lots of money, lots of tech money, lots of athletes, lots of musicians, there’s a lot of musicians that live there and I think there’s an untapped show in that too, just my thoughts.”

What does Meghan McCain do now?

McCain is an American TV personality and conservative writer. She has worked for “The View,” Daily Mail, ABC News, Fox News and MSNBC.

She was born in Phoenix and is the oldest daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain, R-AZ, who died in 2018.

What is Carlos King known for?

King is CEO of the television production company Kingdom Reign Entertainment and has executive produced seasons in “The Real Housewives” franchise.

King revealed that he had pitched a Scottsdale version of “The Real Housewives” in 2017.

“There’s a lot of rich people in Scottsdale, Arizona, and they’re gorgeous,” King said. “And it’s different degrees of professions there.”

He had a baseball wife and someone in the tech industry on board, he said — an “amazing group of women” who were friends as well — but no one bought the series.

McCain expressed shock and said he should revisit that.

“There’s a lot of money in Scottsdale, like a lot,” McCain said. “It’s like Beverly Hills in the desert.”

She said she wishes the show would happen but she'll have to stick with “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” for now.

When did RHOSLC go to Scottsdale?

If "The Real Housewives of Scottsdale" got made, it wouldn't be the first time Real Housewives were in Scottsdale.

In 2022, the cast of "The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City" took a girls trip to Arizona.

The RHOSLC episode aired on Oct. 19, 2022, and showed them drinking on a party bike, relaxing in a high-end Airbnb and generally trying to lift Jen Shah's spirits.

Shah pleaded guilty to wire fraud in a telemarketing scheme and was sentenced to 6.5 years in prison.
