Mike Tyson spoke to former basketball star Shaquille O’Neal on all things boxing, tigers, and his crazy life.
Mike Tyson retired in 2005 after back-to-back losses to Danny Williams and Kevin McBride, and finished his career with a record of 50-6.
Though he returned last year against Jake Paul, he was truly beaten by Father Time, as Paul faced an aged and weathered version of the former ferocious knockout machine.
Speaking to Shaq, Tyson spoke on where he ranks his career amongst the best in the sport, and who the greatest of all time really is.

Mike Tyson names Muhammad Ali as the only fighter better than him
When asked who the greatest heavyweight fighter of all time was, Tyson first said bluntly, “Me.”
He quickly reneged on his comment, though, and claimed, “Muhammad Ali, then me.”
Tyson, who suggested Floyd Mayweather fight Terence Crawford, has spoken highly of Ali for years and has always held him above any other fighter.
Ali retired in 1981 with a record of 56-5, though he was able to avenge every loss except for the final two. One of the losses, to Larry Holmes, was avenged for Ali by Tyson, who promised him he would defeat Holmes on his behalf as his body began to shut down as a result of his Parkinson’s.
Tyson, who praised Shakur Stevenson, claimed that he wasn’t being egotistical in putting his name so high on the list, and that it was a matter of public opinion.
“Ask the world. Not one guy, ten guys, ask the world.”
Mike Tyson named his Mount Rushmore of boxing
On the same podcast, Tyson was also asked about his Mount Rushmore of heavyweight boxing, that is to say, his four top boxers in the heavyweight division.
He didn’t specify if he was picking fighters based on who was the best, or who was his personal favorites, but his list was as follows,
“Demsey, Liston, Ali, Foreman.”

Tyson went on to describe how intimidating a force Sonny Liston was,
“Sonny Liston was the scariest fighter to ever live.”
He spoke on how he knocked out multiple police officers when they told him he couldn’t come into their city.
