Native Ohioan Mike Vrabel shows love to Cleveland Browns fans

Mike Vrabel is one of the most unique coaches in the NFL. When he was fired by the Tennessee Titans earlier this year, it was believed he would get another  NFL head coaching job as soon as possible. However, that reality never happened for the veteran head coach, and he even couldn’t find a coordinator job.

Vrabel Grew Up A Cleveland Browns Fan

There is a chance that Vrabel was offered an NFL head coaching job initially but decided not to take it because the job wasn’t the right fit, so instead, he decided to return home and help coach the Cleveland Browns as a consultant.

Vrabel is from Northeast Ohio and attended Walsh Jesuit High School in Cuyahoga Falls, about 40 minutes from Cleveland, and grew up a Browns fan.

The Northeast Ohio area already loves Vrabel because he is from there and played his college football at Ohio State. Many Buckeye fans want him to replace Ryan Day as the head coach, but instead, they get him to be one of the coaches on their favorite NFL team, which is a good consolation prize.

Vrabel was on the Pardon My Take podcast by Barstool Sports earlier in the week and had great things to say about the Browns fanbase.

Vrabel talked about how he used to wear Orange and Brown sweatpants to school and would eat dog biscuits to fit into the Dawg Pound. He spoke about how he was at the last game at Cleveland Municipal Stadium before the Cleveland Browns moved to Baltimore, stated people taking out their seats, spoke about how great Northeast Ohio is in football, and talked about all the great Ohio State players to come from that area, and how one of the greatest coaches ever, Paul Brown, coached at Massillon High School before coaching Ohio State and the Cleveland Browns.

It’s neat to see Vrabel state how much he loves his hometown and Cleveland Browns fans. There couldn’t have been a better place for him to land as he tries to get back to being a head coach in the NFL again. It would be a great story to see the Browns win the Super Bowl this season and Vrabel get a head coaching job right after.
