NFL Analyst Sends Stern Warning To Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have a lot to prove during the 2024 season. After starting 2023 with a 10-1 record, they crumbled down the stretch, limping into the postseason.

Once there, they were quickly sent home by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That led to an offseason with a lot of changes to Nick Sirianni’s coaching staff and the players on the roster.

NFL Analyst Sends Stern Warning To Philadelphia Eagles

He will have different offensive and defensive coordinators for the third consecutive season and plenty of new faces are on both sides of the ball player personnel-wise. Offensively, running back Saquon Barkley was the major addition.

Defensively, their first two picks in the 2024 NFL Draft were used on cornerbacks. Safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson was brought back after one season with the Detroit Lions and linebacker Devin White was signed away from the Buccaneers.

It is imperative that they get off to a strong start, as they could be in a sizable hole before we even hit Halloween. That is why Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report has listed them as one of the six teams that need to avoid a slow start in 2024.

“The Eagles are losing a home game (although they still have eight in Philadelphia) Friday night at a neutral site in Brazil against a strong divisional opponent in the Green Bay Packers.

"Then they travel back to North America for a Week 2 meeting with the hyped Falcons before going back on the road for the Saints and Buccaneers,” Gagnon wrote.

That is a daunting travel schedule for a team to face. The NFC South could be the most improved division this season. The Eagles will find that out first-hand facing three of them in a row.

Comparatively, three of Philadelphia’s biggest rivals atop the NFC, the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers, are easing into their 2024 schedules.

If the Philadelphia Eagles can find a way to go 3-1 heading into their early bye, they will be in great shape. Anything worse than that and they could be facing a multi-game deficit in the standings when they return to play in Week 6 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
