Oddsmakers just told us everything we need to know about the Browns vs. Cowboys Week 1 game

Cleveland Browns will open their 2024 season at home when they host the Dallas Cowboys in what should be a banger of the game.

Oddsmakers are suggesting that it is going to be a close game as well, with the Browns being just -1 favorites over the NFC contenders, according to DraftKings.

It is essentially a pick-em with a slight difference in the odds, signaling that this one could go either way.

Both Cleveland and Dallas were bounced in the first round of the playoffs last season and that is something that both team wants to wash away. How do they do that? Well, go further in the playoffs in 2024. Starting the season on a strong foot in Week 1 would be a piece of that puzzle.

It is doubtful that Cleveland will have Nick Chubb in that first game, so they’ll be relying on Jerome Ford and D’Onta Foreman mainly to run the rock. Cleveland will have Deshaun Watson healthy in Week 1 and they hope that is something that lasts throughout the season, unlike last year where he missed 11 games with injuries.

Cleveland’s defense is going to be strong again in 2024 under Jim Schwartz and they’ll need to show up right away to slow down Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Jake Ferguson. One advantage the Browns will have is Myles Garrett going up against Cowboys’ rookie LT Tyler Guyton.

Guyton is coming off of a Defensive Player of the Year season and he can go for it again starting in Week 1 against the Cowboys in what should be a humbling game for Guyton.

We unfortunately have a few months until the game is here, but the 2024 season will be back before we know it with the offseason flying by.
