The Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears have one of the longest-running rivalries in NFL history, going back multiple decades. Even when the two teams aren't on the same competitive level, the rivalry is fun for all football fans.

Packers' Matt LaFleur Raises Eyebrows With Comments on Ben Johnson

Entering the upcoming NFL season, the Bears will be looking to take a big jump in terms of contention. Chicago brought in former Detroit Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to be the new head coach, giving the franchise some hope.

The Packers still have Matt LaFleur leading the charge, and he seemed to have some interesting comments about Johnson. This comes after Johnson mentioned that he enjoyed beating Green Bay while with the Lions.

"And to be quite frank with ya, I kind of enjoyed beating Matt LaFleur twice a year," Johnson said in January of his success with the Lions against the Packers.

LaFleur responded to the comments while he was on the Bussin' With the Boys podcast.

"I don't know Ben Johnson," LaFleur said. "Do I have beef? I don't know Ben Johnson. I respect him as a football coach, he did a nice job (with the Lions). ... I thought it was interesting. The press conference was interesting, but I don't have beef with him. ... I don't get all into that stuff."

The comments from LaFleur should excite the Packers fans, even if he claims he doesn't have any beef with Johnson. LaFleur will likely be more motivated to beat the Bears this season, giving the Packers fans something to look forward to.

The NFL tends to place these matchups during primetime slots, potentially giving fans some extra excitement during the season.
