Amid cheating accusations and different accounts of the events, Paige has now revealed the true reason why she realized the Southern Charm star was not the one for her.
Paige DeSorbo Called Craig Conover A Jealous 'Hater'
During a recent episode of Summer House, Paige DeSorbo opened up to her best friend Ciara Miller about a defining problem that pushed her to break up with Craig Conover.
The problem was his jealousy, though not in the way people might expect. He wasn't jealous of other men, he was apparently jealous of the fact that Paige was more popular and famous than he was.
She said that Craig would get "his feelings hurt" whenever he saw her "shining," and would even bring it up to her after filming Southern Charm.
“When we got home, he was like, ‘Well, obviously on-camera, I’m not going to say that you’re way busier than me and that your s*** is bigger,'” she recalled.
“I go, ‘Why?’ He goes, ‘Well that would be negative.’ I go, ‘For you! Why couldn’t you have said that? Like, that is what’s happening. That validates my s***.'”

Those moments were big realizations for her that the relationship might not be good for her.
“I was like, ‘Am I dating a secret hater?'”
Ciara was incredibly upset to hear all that, and later in a confessional, she bashed Craig and sympathized with her friend.
"That is a f****** hater a** boyfriend. Paige shouldn’t have to pay for your lack of self-confidence and your lack of self-esteem."
"Honestly, this is all him. I’ve had this conversation multiple times with Paige. Somehow, someway, it does end up becoming the Craig show."
Craig Didn't Expect Paige To Break Up With Him
While Paige DeSorbo had been questioning their relationship for a while by the time she broke up with him, Craig was completely blindsided by her decision. As far as he was concerned, their relationship was great.
"I was like, I can't believe this is like happening."
“And it was really calm. She's like, 'I need to find myself.’ And she's like, ‘I have to take control of my life again and we need to break up.'”

It wasn't only her feeling that he didn't support her success that made Paige question their relationship. She was also concerned that they had different plans for their future. Specifically, they couldn't agree on where to settle down, and while Craig was willing to move to New York for her, Paige didn't want him to give up his entire life to be with her.
"She asked me to raise kids in Manhattan and she's like, ‘You will resent me forever if you have to live this life in New York,’" he revealed.
