Paige DeSorbo Is Taking the ‘Bed Bugs’ Vibe to a Whole New Level

Paige DeSorbo Is Turning the “Bed Bug” Brand Into a Business

Paige DeSorbo may have started as a Bravo-lebrity, but these days, she’s proving she’s so much more than a “Summer House” cast member. In the past year alone, DeSorbo filmed her seventh season of the Bravo hit, toured with her hit podcast “Giggly Squad” (co-hosted with best friend Hannah Berner), published a New York Times best-selling book “How to Giggle” with Berner, co-anchored the Vanity Fair Oscar party livestream, and became a proud cat mom.

Now, she’s adding entrepreneur to the list with the launch of her new loungewear brand, Daphne — a project that feels tailor-made for her personal brand.

Paige DeSorbo Leans Into the Bed Bug Brand With Daphne

Fans lovingly dubbed DeSorbo and her co-stars Ciara Miller and Amanda Batula the “bed bugs” thanks to their frequent on-screen lounging during “Summer House.” Now, DeSorbo is embracing that identity with the launch of Daphne (named after her cat), a direct-to-consumer loungewear line designed to be worn both in and out of bed.

“This is one thing where I can say it’s a full-circle moment,” DeSorbo told InStyle. “I’m so happy that I didn’t do it sooner because I don’t think it would’ve been as authentic as it is right now.” Daphne officially drops on June 10, with prices ranging from $58 for a cami to $230 for a set.

The brand was developed in partnership with Concept Brands, an incubator for creator-founded businesses. DeSorbo admitted she took her time deciding what type of product to launch, turning down opportunities in skincare and makeup because they didn’t feel authentic. “When you look at Bethenny Frankel, you still think Skinny Girl Margarita,” she explained. “Some reality TV people you see, and you’re like, ‘Oh, they have a flip-flop line?’”

When she started thinking seriously about her own brand two years ago, loungewear was a natural fit. “I feel like we all align on staying in bed,” she said with a laugh.

From ‘Summer House’ to Entrepreneur

While DeSorbo’s ascent began on “Summer House” season 3, where she was introduced as a fashion writer, her goal from day one was to build a career beyond reality TV.

“Everything I’ve done in my career thus far — none of it did I think was going to happen,” she said. “I wasn’t seven, being like, ‘One day I’ll have a podcast.’”

Early on, DeSorbo worried about missing opportunities. “I would get really down on myself, like, ‘What if the show’s not on next year? What if I’m not asked back and I haven’t put anything out?’” she said.

Now in her 30s, DeSorbo has a new perspective. “There was a shift when I turned 30 where I was like, ‘Enough. I’m just as much an adult as anyone else in the room.’”

With “Giggly Squad” continuing to grow and Daphne about to debut, DeSorbo is ready to balance her passions. “Obviously, I’ll die for ‘Giggly Squad,’ so I think it’ll be pretty split for the foreseeable future,” she said.

As for what’s next? She’s focused on making Daphne a brand that will last. “Intention is key — this product category is perfect for her vibe and what she loves,” said Kyle DeFord, General Manager of Daphne.

And don’t be surprised if DeSorbo’s Summer House castmates show up in Daphne soon. “My Hamptons housemates are on the gifting list,” she teased.
