Paige DeSorbo Reveals There Are Summer House Friendships Viewers Never See

Paige DeSorbo has started spilling some behind-the-scenes secrets—including unseen friendships—about “Summer House” that would shock her legions of fans. From how she handles headline-making breakups to dealing with public opinions, the 32-year-old admits that what she has to say may surprise some fans. 

Paige DeSorbo Talks About the Unseen ‘Friendships’ of ‘Summer House’

During the same interview, DeSorbo also revealed some info that she thought would surprise some “Summer House” fans. She said that viewers may not realize just how many crew members are with the cast when they film at their Hamptons home.

“There’s a whole basement that we’re never allowed in, which is where all the monitors, the cameras, and the producers are,” she dished. “Some of our camera operators and sound people have been with us since the first season.”

Over the years, “Summer House” cast members have become good friends with many people on the production team. DeSorbo noted that the cast has watched many of the crew members get married and have kids. They even bring their kids to the house.

“There are so many more friendships on Summer House than people would ever even realize,” DeSorbo admitted during a recent interview with InStyle. “The people who filmed Kyle and Amanda’s engagement were specifically picked to film it because they had met them in season one. We really know them so well. And that’s why they get us to say whatever they want.”

If it were up to DeSorbo, the show would break the fourth wall “so much more.”

The ‘Summer House’ Star Has Her Mom Watch Episodes First

One of the most difficult things about being a reality TV star is watching yourself on screen. The stars don’t know how things will be edited. What will make the show and what will get left on the cutting room floor is a mystery. So, when new episodes come out, DeSorbo has her mom watch them first.

“You know when you hear your own voice on a voicemail and you’re like, how does anyone speak to me? It’s that times ten,” DeSorbo explained. “It’s like drunk Instagram stories that you don’t have the option to delete. So I send the episode to my mom, and I make her watch it first, and I say, ‘Let me know if there’s anything I should be aware of.’ I love myself, but not that much.”

DeSorbo confessed that hearing people’s strong opinions about the show can be “definitely hard at times.” But experience has made it much easier. She started her career on “Summer House” at the age of 25. Now, at 32, she deals with it “in a very different way.”

She used to read every comment and DM, and this overtook her personality. But now, she is too busy to read everything people say about her and the show, for which she is thankful. Plus, she has gained more confidence as she has gotten older

“But also, as you get older, you get more confident, you’re just like, ‘I don’t know you. That’s a crazy thing to say,’” she added.

Paige DeSorbo Also Talks Breakups and Moving On

It’s been a few months since DeSorbo and “Southern Charm” star Craig Conover ended their three-year relationship. But instead of lying low and dwelling on the split, the “Summer House” star says that she prefers to jump back into the dating pool immediately. 

“I am not a big breakup person. I’m not a big, like, you gotta lay in bed for a couple of days and listen to sad music. I’m immediately out there,” DeSorbo said. “I was immediately like, ‘Are we going out?’ And we’ve been out there. I just had a girls’ trip to Miami.”

DeSorbo, who was spotted with Joe D’Amelio after her split from Conover, was confirmed. She believes the best thing for newly single people to do is to “get outside” and “go out.”
