As promised, Summer House’s Paige DeSorbo wasted no time bringing up Kyle Cooke’s “rage texts” about Craig Conover and Hannah Berner at Lindsay Hubbard's sex reveal dinner.
Though Kyle was really “upset about Craig’s so-called investment” in a Loverboy competitor, as well as Hannah “talking sh-t about me and my business” on a podcast, as he put it on Season 9, Episode 4, Paige bore the brunt of his anger on behalf of her best friend and then-boyfriend.
Having already “felt very in the middle” of the falling out between Kyle, wife Amanda Batula, and Hannah, for the past several years, she had no desire to see history repeat itself.
“When they stopped being friends, no one thought about how that impacted me whatsoever,” she explained in a confessional, before dropping a bold statement. “What I’m trying to avoid is a situation where Craig and Kyle never talk again. If that happened, I genuinely don’t think I could stay in this house.”
As Paige told Kyle directly, “It’s just a new player, and now it’s Craig. And now you two aren’t gonna be friends, and then it’s, again, me and Amanda there to pick up the pieces. And I’ll be damned if I let what happened to Hannah and Amanda happen to me and Amanda.”
Paige DeSorbo's new friendship strategy with Kyle Cooke
Up until then, playing the “Switzerland” role had mostly worked for Paige. Overhearing Kyle call her “two-faced” after she retreated from the dinner put her on the defensive, though.
“I was able to maintain a friendship with Hannah, never speak ill of your wife, and then maintain a friendship with Amanda, never speaking ill of Hannah,” she fired back. “That’s actually being mature and an adult, not two-faced. What you do is two-faced: texting, rage-texting me, and then acting like it’s all good is two-faced.”
