Patrick Mahomes will play 2025 postseason with chip on his shoulder due to specific reason
While the NFL playoffs get underway, the Kansas City Chiefs are sitting at home. Off the back of a 15-2 record in the regular season, the back-to-back Super Bowl champions earned some much-needed rest and recuperation. As they prepare to go for a three-peat, they must find internal motivation for a deep postseason run.
It's not exactly easy for a team that has made so many Super Bowl runs to just get up and go. At a certain point, there needs to be something driving them to succeed. Without bulletin board material, it is difficult, but there may be something that Patrick Mahomes in particular could use: he didn't receive any All-Pro votes this season.

Four offensive starters for the Chiefs received at least two All-Pro votes, but Mahomes didn't receive a single one. Could that be the external motivation Mahomes is able to use for these final few games? Chiefs fans seem to think so.
In reality, Mahomes not getting a vote at all shouldn't come as a surprise. He had an average year by his lofty standards, while Lamar Jackson (109 votes) and Josh Allen (78) really shined. Joe Burrow was the only other quarterback to receive votes (13).
Mahomes also missed out on the Pro Bowl this year. He hasn't made an All-Pro team in three of the last four years, but he has won two Super Bowls in that span and has eyes on another this February.
