Philadelphia Eagles Star Would Not Have Practiced With Injury Wednesday

The Philadelphia Eagles would not have had one of their top offensive playmakers if they practiced on Wednesday.

The Eagles ran an estimated practice report for Wednesday despite being off and wide receiver De'Vonta Smith was listed as DNP (did not participate). He would not have been out there if they officially practiced.

He's battling a small hamstring injury even though he was good to play on Sunday in the NFC Championship Game against the Washington Commanders. He played in over 80% of the snaps, finishing with four receptions for 45 yards and no touchdowns.

He has a week and a half to get fully healthy for Super Bowl LIX on February 9 against the Kansas City Chiefs. It's a rematch from Super Bowl LVII two years ago, a game that the Chiefs won 38-35.

Smith should be good to go for the contest and the Eagles will need him if they want to avenge that loss. He's one of their top two receivers and finished the regular season with 68 receptions for 833 yards and eight touchdowns.

Together, he and AJ Brown form one of the best one-two punches at wideout in the NFL.

Elsewhere, center Cam Jurgens and guard Landon Dickerson also would not have practiced if a practice was held on Wednesday. Jurgens is still dealing with a back injury while Dickerson has a knee injury.

Jurgens came in for Dickerson in the second half of Sunday's game after the latter got banged up. The Eagles are hopeful that both will be healthy and in the lineup for Super Bowl LIX.

Jurgens and Dickerson are two of their best offensive linemen and are great run and pass blockers.
