Porsha Williams bookended The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16's second episode by breaking the fourth wall, not once, but twice — and both times involved Drew Sidora and Dennis McKinley.
How to Watch
Watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta Sundays 8/7c on Bravo and streaming next day on Peacock.
After getting a producer's permission to speak freely in order to vent her real issues with Drew working with her ex-fiancé (among other things) earlier on RHOA Season 16, Episode 2, Porsha and Dennis finally came face-to-face to have a similar discussion while on a playdate with their daughter, Pilar Jhena "PJ" McKinley.
Dennis insisted that working as Drew’s music producer was strictly professional, causing Porsha to double down on the fact she would have a serious problem with them filming RHOA scenes together. While Dennis saw no issue with him and Drew using the show "for promotion," Porsha fired back, "Now you're about to piss me off."
"I literally have no expectations on Dennis besides being a great dad for Pilar," Porsha explained in a confessional. "But on the one thing I’m asking you: Don’t film with her on the show . . . you can't do that. I don't know why I can't get loyalty from people."
Porsha walked away before the situation escalated, though, muttering under her breath that she "could just never have support." As she began to tear up, she elaborated to a producer on why Drew and Dennis potentially filming together bothered her so much.
"Imagine him and I getting into it or something, and we're not speaking. And now he gets offered these cameras to come and use my own platform against me," she said, while dabbing her eyes. "I don’t need anything else."
When the producer asked if Porsha explained that to Dennis, she replied, "He doesn't deserve my tears. I refuse to give him my tears."
What Dennis McKinley was caught saying in his car on RHOA
About 20 minutes later, Porsha and Dennis continued the conversation off camera, as they drove away together in her car. Still, fans were able to listen in.
"When you show up anywhere on these cameras with somebody else, it's gonna be a problem," Porsha told him. "Another damn Housewife looks absolutely insane."
After Dennis asked, "You know we hot on the mic?" Porsha fired back, "Yeah, I’m sure you know. [You're] a pro now with it, huh?"
His response: "You’re trippin’ right now."
Dennis doubled down on his defense of Drew using RHOA for album promo, prompting Porsha to turn the subject back to their family. "Let me tell ya somethin'. Do what you do. And what you do is gonna mark how this happens," she said.
When Dennis questioned what that meant, Porsha replied, "It's gonna mark how this looks for your daughter."
Her final assessment? "Can't count on nobody but me."
Drew Sidora explains her relationship with Dennis McKinley
Earlier in the episode, Drew similarly promised Porsha that there was nothing romantic happening between her and Dennis.
According to Drew, Dennis — aka her "angel on Earth" amid her divorce from Ralph Pittman — first reached out to her management about hosting an official after party while she was opening up for Tamar Braxton. She claimed Dennis had assured her that Porsha had given them her blessing to work together.
"At the end of the day, Dennis has been like a brother to me," Drew insisted to Porsha at Shamea Morton's birthday bash. "I don't want to ever think for one second that I would ever be dealing with your baby daddy."
In turn, Porsha called her a "lowdown dirty individual" for going behind her back to not only ask Dennis to film with her — something Drew denied — but also for trying to set up a filmed photoshoot for Go Naked Hair (i.e. Porsha’s beauty brand) without her permission.
"You know, this is somebody I consider to be a friend and there's no real clear indication as to why she’s upset with me," Drew stated in a confessional. "It's kind of all over the place. Is it [because] I'm working with Dennis on music? Is it the Go Naked shoot? It's just like, girl, she wanna be mad at me, so she mad at me. So let's go."
