As production for Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16 continues, Simon Guobadia is still desperately trying to get his hands on Porsha Williams’ contract. He’s convinced that it holds crucial information related to their divorce that could ultimately unravel their prenuptial agreement.
The circus of a breakup has been going on for months, with both of them hurling accusations back and forth. Some of the mudslinging has been pure pettiness. But, when it comes to this RHOA contract, Simon refuses to let the mouse go.
As you might recall, Simon previously subpoenaed Truly Original, the company that produces RHOA. He and his lawyers were hoping to get details on Porsha’s return to television. Meanwhile, Porsha and her lawyers fought to keep her soon-to-be ex out of her business.
The battle for the Bravo contract
In Touch reported on the latest update in the legal back-and-forth. Essentially, Simon is trying to stop Porsha’s attempt to shut down his subpoenas. It’s like they just keep hitting each other with the reverse card in a game of Uno.
According to the latest court filings, Simon felt like their prenup would have been different if he knew about her upcoming RHOA return. Allegedly, she made it seem like that wasn’t something that would happen.
“The only income Porsha had coming in were passive income and payments that she received from her other minor projects which were not enough to sustain her,” Simon explained in a declaration. “Since she no longer had her income from RHOA, Porsha explained to me that she needed money to help cover her bills and expenses.”
From there, Simon reportedly started paying Porsha a five-figure allowance every month to help cover her bills and expenses. When she announced her return to RHOA and filed for divorce a few days later, Simon felt completely caught off guard.
His lawyer explained, “It is apparent that wife’s financial status and income have changed since the prenuptial agreement was executed in November 2022. Therefore, this Court must evaluate the circumstances surrounding this change to determine the fairness and enforceability of the prenuptial agreement.”
A judge has yet to rule on this. However, Simon and his lawyers are crossing their fingers this goes in their favor. If they can get their hands on Porsha’s contract, they can prove that she has plenty of income to fend for herself.
