It was a big night for New York Rangers goaltender Jonathan Quick and American hockey as a whole.
The 39-year-old Milford, Connecticut native aided the Rangers in a 4-2 win over the Las Vegas Golden Knights on Sunday.
It was his 400th career victory in net, and he became the 15th goalie in NHL history to reach the formidable milestone.
He's also the fourth goaltender who played for the Rangers to accomplish the feat. The others are Henrik Lundqvist (459 wins), Terry Sawchuk (445) and Jacques Plante (437). They are all Hockey Hall of Famers and among the illustrious names at their position.
Quick is the only American-born goaltender to record that many career wins, an even more impressive feat. Long-time Buffalo Sabres netminder Ryan Miller, the next closest, fell just short at 391 wins by the time he retired in 2021.
Quick spent nearly 16 seasons with the Los Angeles Kings before being traded to Las Vegas for the 2023 playoffs. He logged 375 of his 400 career wins with those two franchises alone.
He signed with New York before the start of the 2023-24 season and has now recorded 25 wins in the Big Apple.
