Jennifer Tilly took aim at Kyle Richards and her loyalty to Sutton Stracke after Tuesday’s season 14 finale of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
After Kyle, 56, and her relationship with Sutton, 53, became a hot topic amongst the cast on Tuesday’s episode, Jennifer, 66, admitted to feeling that Kyle was two-faced as Kyle defended herself, and Garcelle Beauvais, 58, wondered why Sutton was so set on getting validation from Kyle.
“There’s like, two Kyles. There’s the one that puts her arm around you. Shows you the ropes. Helps you. Rents her house to you. And then there’s the other Kyle,” Jennifer explained on the March 25 episode of the RHOBH: After Show. “Because … Kyle, I think, genuinely likes Sutton, and then on the other hand, Kyle will take Sutton and throw her under the bus on occasion.”
“I’ve said to Sutton, ‘Kyle is not your friend,’” she admitted.
But according to Kyle, her behavior toward Sutton is due to Sutton’s behavior.
“The way that I have been unsupported is beyond. And the fact that I have had her coming to me when I was at my lowest moment and getting mad at me for storming off, and now they’re looking at me like, ‘Why are you not supporting Sutton?’ You’ve got to be kidding me,” she complained, turning her attention to Garcelle.
“Garcelle’s so concerned about how everyone reacts to Sutton, but not how Sutton’s treating everyone else. She’ll defend that no matter what. But it doesn’t even make any sense,” Kyle explained.
Meanwhile, Erika Jayne, 53, admitted to being “tired of ‘blind loyalty’” as Garcelle suggested that Sutton didn’t see the pattern Jennifer was referring to, even though “everybody [else] sees it.”
“I’ve seen the pattern. I have seen it,” Sutton argued. “I’ve seen her pull my arm. I’ve seen her say ‘no.’ I’ve seen her, ‘You can’t leave.’ I’ve seen her do these things to me.”
As for why she still entertains a friendship with Kyle, Sutton said she believes there’s “a vulnerability in Kyle.”
“I don’t want anything from Kyle. There’s nothing that I want or need from her at all,” she insisted.
But not everyone was convinced.
“The need for her friendship is important to you,” Garcelle told her castmate as Jennifer compared Kyle to Sutton’s mom, Reba.
“There’s something about that that’s validating,” Garcelle agreed.
At that point, Sutton confessed that many, not just Jennifer and Garcelle, had voiced their concerns about Kyle’s loyalty to her.
“There are lots of people who tell me, ‘Kyle is not your friend.’ But, I like her. Our relationship can have some private moments,” she explained.
“Yeah, but those private moments I feel like are manipulative for you. You can’t really be a friend of mine if you hang out with people who despise me. You can’t,” Garcelle replied.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 14 reunion begins airing on Tuesday, April 1, at 8/7c on Bravo.
