RHOC: Vicki Gunvalson's Daughter Briana Culberson Shares Update on Health Amid Battle With Lupus

Briana is a nurse and lives in Oklahoma. She’s a happily married military wife and the mother of four children.

Briana recently took to her Instagram to share an update on her health. She posted a picture of her husband with the caption, “Blessings on blessings on blessings.”

The caption continues, “Through multiple deployments, Ryan’s injuries, and subsequent multiple surgeries, 12 moves in 12 years, 4 beautiful children, my horrendous health struggles, PTSD, yada yada yada, we’ve been through some wonderful times and some royal sh-t.”

Briana continues by saying that the roadblocks they have faced over the years have brought them closer.

She says, “ Our current path to health, emotional healing, and overall wellness has brought our whole family so much closer together. 2024 is a karma year, and so far, we’re feeling the good. It’s a lot of hard work, but we’re on such a great path. Let’s keep this happy train goin.”

In another Instagram post, Briana also spoke about her health.

“I don’t want people to think of me with pity. I want to be seen as strong and resilient. My name is Briana, and there’s a whole lot more to me than the snippets you may have seen on a reality TV show,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, the sickest years of my life were documented on a reality TV show, and that’s the image that has stuck with most people.”

Briana states that she “was chronically ill for almost 20 years, and after I had my 2nd son in 2014, I just got sicker and sicker and sicker.”

She continued, “Over the past 5 years I’ve been on a health and wellness journey after hitting an all time physical and emotional low. I appreciate all of you following along, it’s been a long road for me but so beautiful. I’m learning and evolving everyday and am so grateful for every minute of my life and my current health.”

Briana was diagnosed with Lupus in 2016. Lupus is a chronic disease of the immune system, and it causes pain and inflammation all over the body. Essentially, your immune system attacks the impacted person’s tissues and organs. Luckily, it’s not usually life-threatening.

Briana serves as a reminder that though there is no cure, there are ways to treat lupus. One of the ways she has done so is to change her diet, which she has been open about through the years.

We’re glad that Briana is happy and healthy and has a solid support system from her husband, mother, and kids.
