Sanya Richards-Ross Shares Peek at Son Asani's Nursery, Son Aaron's Bedroom (Exclusive)

The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, 39, spoke with PEOPLE exclusively about her 7-month-old son Asani's new nursery, which was designed by Vanessa Antonelli. Richards-Ross also had the bedroom of her 6-year-old son Aaron Jermaine Ross II, aka Deuce, redone in tandem with her baby boys.

"It's impossible to pick because it's everything in the room that makes it so special," Richards-Ross says when asked about her favorite part of Asani's nursery. "Asani is such a calm baby with bright beautiful eyes and already very curious eyes so I wanted his room to be a reflection of him."

"Interesting wallpaper that would spark his curiosity and calm, subtle colors like his personality," she continues. "I think we nailed it!"

As for Deuce's room, the proud mom wanted colors that the 6-year-old loved to be featured predominately throughout the space.

"Deucey loves blue, so choosing his room was super easy. He's at the age now where he knows what he likes and appreciates having an input," Richards-Ross says. "We showed him the pieces as his room was coming together and he absolutely loved it."

There were even aspects of Deuce's room that connected him to his baby brother.

"For Asani, it was more about what I wanted and I knew I wanted something peaceful and serene. I wanted a more neutral aesthetic with a pop of blue to match his brother's room."

As the mom of two decided what to include on her son's blue walls, Richards-Ross says there was one item she was particularly excited about.

"The Nike artwork is my favorite," she explains of the art hanging in Deuce's bedroom. "As an athlete and bonafide sneakerhead, I was ecstatic when she sent it over. I actually thought about stealing it for my room but Deucey loves it as much as I do!"

"It's a real highlight of the room. Everyone mentions it when they first see it and I love that."

Although Deuce is excited about the Nike shoes, he seems to be taking more of an interest in his dad's sport - football — rather than his former Olympic athlete mom's sport of track and field.

"So far it's all about Dad! He talks about running track but right now he loves football," Richards-Ross explains. "He and his Dad play it all the time and he has a natural knack for it. I love seeing them bond that way."

The former professional athlete, who is returning to the Olympics this summer as a track and field analyst for NBCUniversal's coverage, says that the transition from one to two kids has been tough, but she's enjoying it.

"Now that Deucey is 6, we were well out of the sleepless night stages, the feeding and changing diapers but it's been more enjoyable this time around because my hubby and I knew what to expect and have been on the same page the entire time," Richards-Ross says of husband Aaron Ross.

"It hasn't felt so overwhelming and having Deucey be so involved as a big brother helps a ton too!"
