Scheana Shay is sharing her journey of rebuilding trust and moving forward after discovering her husband, Brock Davies, had an affair during her pregnancy with their daughter, Summer.
The “Vanderpump Rules” star reveals in her upcoming memoir “My Good Side” that Davies confessed to his infidelity in spring 2023, just as she was dealing with the fallout from the infamous Scandoval drama involving her co-stars Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss. The timing of the revelation created a perfect storm of betrayal that tested everything she thought she knew about love and loyalty.
In an exclusive excerpt shared with Glamour, Shay describes the moment her world shifted forever. “I remained in a state of paralyzed shock as he confessed that he’d cheated on me two years prior, when we were living in San Diego during the pandemic, while I was pregnant with Summer,” she wrote, explaining how the confession came during what should have been a peaceful evening at home.
The reality star had spent months defending her marriage against rumors and speculation, particularly after blind items surfaced suggesting Davies was involved with other women. “I had spent so much time fighting off my anxiety and convincing myself that just because Tom cheated on Ariana didn’t mean Brock would ever cheat on me. Now, I was finding out just how wrong I was.”
Processing the Painful Truth Behind the Betrayal
Davies explained his reasoning for the affair, although Shay makes it clear that she views it as a conscious choice rather than a mistake. “As I sat there, feeling completely sick to my stomach, he admitted that — at the time — he was scared about being a father again, specifically about whether he even deserved to be, and he chose to deal with it by sleeping with someone else” she shared in her memoir excerpt per Glamour.
The confession revealed that Davies had reconnected with a woman he had known before meeting Shay, and they began a brief affair while he was working at his F45 gym in San Diego. The betrayal was particularly devastating because it occurred during Shay’s pregnancy, a time when she was already vulnerable and dealing with physical and emotional changes.
Shay’s initial reaction was explosive, admitting she “slapped him and threw a Rubik’s cube in his direction, which he dodged.” She explains that certain triggers still remind her of that dark moment. “To this day, every time I see a Rubik’s cube it triggers me, pulling me right back to this incredibly dark moment in my life. Same goes for any mention of an F45 gym,” she wrote.

Finding Strength Through Vulnerability and Truth
Shay recalls how Davies had been reluctant to be intimate with her during her pregnancy, behavior that damaged her confidence at an already vulnerable time.
“The letter made me remember the weeks leading up to my second trimester when, like many pregnant women, I was sexually stimulated. I’ll never forget how, during that time, Brock was ‘afraid’ to have sex with me (or he simply didn’t want to). That did a number on my anxiety, and it killed my confidence in a way I can’t even describe,” she shared.
Davies had written a detailed letter about the affair a year after it ended, which he gave to Shay the night of his confession. The letter included specifics she never wanted to know, and after reading it, she demanded he burn it immediately. “Once I’d read it, that was more than enough. I told him to immediately toss it into the fire. I never wanted to set eyes on those words again.”
Moving Forward While Honoring Her Journey
Shay’s decision to share this deeply personal experience in her memoir, set for release on July 22, represents a significant step in her healing process. The book covers her entire journey, from before fame to her current life as a mother and reality star, offering readers insight into the experiences that have shaped her resilience.
The memoir joins works by several of her former “Vanderpump Rules” co-stars who have also transitioned into authors, including Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent, and Kristen Doute. According to the synopsis, the book promises to reveal “all sides of her — the good, bad, and messy” while taking readers through her Hollywood experiences and personal growth.
Despite the pain of Davies’ betrayal, Shay and her husband remain married and continue to co-parent their now 4-year-old daughter, Summer. The couple, who secretly married in 2022 before hosting a larger celebration in Mexico, are working to rebuild their relationship while Davies also navigates his complicated relationship with his two older children from a previous marriage.
