"I'm lucky, that's all I can say. I'm super lucky," he once told The Daily Dish about his love for his family, including his dad and mom (William and Frances) as well as his two siblings (older sister Katie and younger brother Whitaker).
When Shep isn't living his life out loud in Charleston, he visits his family at one of their homes to mark important moments, including when his dog, Lil Craig, celebrated his 6th birthday in late 2024, in addition to big holidays like Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Shep's family's various properties include a water-front property in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina as well as his family's mountain home in theAppalachians in North Carolina. He lives in a bachelor pad on the Isle of Palms, South Carolina.

Sherp even has a family member with a tie to Bravo: His cousin, Marcie Hobbs, also appeared on Southern Cham in Season 8. “Before I met [my husband] John, I was quite the party girl. You know, I was kind of like a girl Shep,” Marcie explained in an interview during that season. “And now I have nice dinner parties instead of wild Animal House parties.”
By the way, his mom and nieces have also appeared on Southern Charm in the past.
What does Shep Rose do for a living?
Shep studied business at both the University of Georgia and the Vanderbilt University School of Management. In the past, Shep has invested in bars in Charleston. He also launched the clothing line, Shep Gear, in 2016. Before his time on Southern Charm, on which he's been a cast member since Season 1, Shep revealed on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen in 2017, that he's also worked in real estate.
"I've worked in Dubai. I've sold real [estate]. I lived in Dubai and sold real estate. It was crazy," he shared at the time. "So right now I'm happy just kind of being the bon vivant as it were."
