The romance may be over, but the tension is far from gone.
In a raw and unfiltered moment, Love Is Blind’s Matt Bolton is finally speaking out — and he’s not holding back. After months of subtle jabs and emotional interviews from Colleen Reed, Matt is drawing a line in the sand.
“I’ve stayed quiet out of respect,” he said during a recent podcast appearance. “But enough is enough. This breakup wasn’t just on me. It was both of us.”
Fans of Love Is Blind watched Matt and Colleen’s relationship unfold with highs, lows, and emotional cracks that only deepened after the cameras stopped rolling. And while Colleen has hinted that Matt’s temper and trust issues led to their split, Matt’s now making it clear: he’s tired of being the scapegoat.
“Colleen keeps painting this picture like I was the villain,” Matt said. “But the truth is, we were both struggling. We both made mistakes. She knows that.”
According to Matt, their relationship didn’t crumble because of one big blowup — it was death by a thousand cuts.
“It was the silence, the miscommunication, the avoidance,” he explained. “We stopped being a team. And yeah, I got angry sometimes — I own that. But she shut down too. She stopped trying.”
The former couple, who once gave viewers hope with their emotional vows, now seem to be locked in a painful post-breakup blame game.
“I’m not saying I was perfect,” Matt admitted. “But she needs to stop acting like she was.”
Despite the bitterness, Matt says he still wishes Colleen well — but he’s ready to move forward without the weight of her judgment.
“We both deserve peace,” he said. “But peace starts with truth. And the truth is, I wasn’t the only one who gave up.”
From whirlwind love to lingering resentment, Matt and Colleen’s journey proves that not all fairy tales end in forever — and sometimes, closure means calling out the narrative that keeps reopening the wounds.
