Summer House Alum Stephen McGee Makes a Big Announcement: "It Was Time..."

It's been seven seasons(!) since Stephen McGee stepped away from sharing his life on Summer House. Even though cameras aren't rolling on him anymore, the Bravo alum is not shy to share what he's up to these days on social media, including new looks at his friendships with past and present cast members, his career, his travels, as well as his home life.

Is Stephen McGee still friends with the Summer House cast?

Stephen still hangs with Danielle Olivera (and they post from their meetups to Instagram), the latter of whom is popping up on the current Season 9 of Summer House. He also attended Lauren Wirkus' 2020 wedding. More recently, Stephen also attended a cast party timed to the Summer House Season 8 finale in May 2024. He's also friends with Samantha Feher and the pair exchange fun messages on Instagram, sharing some insight into their dynamic.

What seasons did Stephen McGee appear on Summer House?

Stephen appeared on Season 1 and Season 2 of Summer House. The Season 1 cast included Stephen as well as Kyle Cooke, Cristina Gibson, Lindsay Hubbard, Carl Radke, Jaclyn Shuman, Everett Weston, Ashley Wirkus, and Lauren Wirkus.

In Season 2, the cast included Kyle, Lindsay, Stephen, Carl, and Lauren. They were joined by newbie cast Amanda Batula, Amit Neuman, and Danielle Olivera. Ashley returned in Season 2 in a recurring role.

At the time, his BravoTV.com noted: Every house needs someone who shakes things up and doesn’t care what people think, and Stephen McGee fits that bill. During the week, he works as an event planner for luxury brands and socialites, but as soon as the clock strikes noon on Friday, he makes his way out to live it up on the East End. Coming from Alabama, Stephen is struggling with how to fit his conservative family into his personal life since coming out. He hopes to find love this summer but really is on a quest to find himself.

In a 2020 Instagram post, alongside a throwback photo of Lauren Wirkus, Stephen reflected on what it was like to exit the show:

"This pic may not mean much at first glance, but it was taken at the first event we attended after it came out we were leaving Summer House. We were really scared and nervous for what was ahead and how we would move forward. We were at this big event being interviewed and no one else from the show was invited. The photo was posted online with the perfect caption: COSTARS FOREVER. and we were just like… we are gonna make it.

Where does Stephen McGee live today?

Stephen still lives in New York City. He shared a look inside his apartment in February. In fact, at the time when he shared photos from his home (below), he revealed he was finally taking down his sparkly Christmas tree, writing, "It was time, I finally took down my tinsel tree and mentally going straight into summer."

When he's not in the Big Apple, he's posting photos from his many trips and adventures around the globe and, yes, out to the Hamptons.

What does Stephen McGee do for a living today?

According to his Instagram bio, he is an "event planner [and] dinner party thrower." He also runs the S Studio, which according to the official website is "an event agency producing one of a kind experiences that are are a gift to your guests."
