Mellencamp filed for divorce from Edwin last November after nearly 14 years of marriage.

But the exes have remained amicable as the TV personality battles stage 4 cancer.

Edwin, 48, explained why he decided to stay by his estranged wife’s side on an episode of “The Eds” podcast last month.

“No matter what, I will always love Teddi, and she’s been a big part of my life,” he said. “And I just like taking care of people, it’s just what I do. So it wasn’t even a question; it was reflexive.”

Mellencamp was initially diagnosed with stage 2 melanoma in 2022 and subsequently underwent 16 surgeries, with the most recent one being last year.

However, Mellencamp’s health took another turn when doctors discovered “multiple tumors” in her brain in February.

At the time, she was rushed into emergency surgery and had four tumors removed, though doctors later uncovered more on her body, including two in her lungs and three more in her brain.

The reality star previously said she’s “fighting for [her] life” and revealed her chances of survival were “50/50” as she undergoes treatment.

However, earlier this month, Mellencamp shared a “positive” update that her tumors had “significantly shrunk,” saying doctors believe her treatment will be successful.
