‘Teen Mom’ News Pile: Tyler Baltierra Apologizes to Farrah Abraham; Ashley Jones Says She Had to Recreate Dramatic “Hostage” Incident For Finale

From saying sorry to saying what is fake, it’s been a busy week for the stars/former stars of the Teen Mom franchise! In an effort to bring you up-to-date on the latest Teen Mom: The Next ChapterTeen Mom and Teen Mom 2 news, The Ashley brings you the Teen Mom News Pile.

Here are some of the major (and minor but interesting) ‘Teen Mom’-related things that happened over the last week or so…

Tyler Baltierra Apologizes to Farrah Abraham for His Reaction to Her Adult Film Career

“That’s the lamest ‘apology’ I’ve ever heard, PER LAW!”

Tyler has had a surprising change of heart when it comes to the firing/treatment received by his former co-star Farrah following the release of her 2013 adult film, Backdoor Teen Mom and her other sex industry ventures.

During a Q&A session with fans on Instagram Live on Wednesday, the ‘Teen Mom’ dad was asked if he regrets the way he treated Farrah for doing sex work. (As fans know, Farrah was fired from ‘Teen Mom OG’ in October 2017 for several reasons, one of which was her refusal to stop participating in adult industry/sex work.) Tyler started an OnlyFans account last year that he used to post sexy time pics (red thong anyone?) of himself to The Interwebs, which some compared to what Farrah had done.

“I think it’s important to address the fact that, do I have any regrets or different viewpoints regarding Farrah? Yes, I do,” Tyler said.

Tyler, on saying something nice about Farrah…

He went on to remind fans that Farrah’s adult movie, Backdoor Teen Mom, was very different from what he’s posted to OnlyFans, in that Farrah made a produced adult movie that she attempted to market as a “leaked sex tape.”

“Her using the ‘Teen Mom’ name in that title is a whole different thing,” Tyler said. “I believe it is different, however, do I think it was fair for the treatment that she got regarding it? Just that part– not her personality, not how mean she is– just that part. Yeah, I do [regret that].

“I mean…she’s still awful, but I probably could have been nicer about her bush-and-tush film.”

“I would say I’m sorry that you got treated in that way,” Tyler continued. “I think it was during a time where it was still very taboo and not talked about and not explored enough.”

Tyler did point out that Farrah lying about how and why the film was made didn’t help the situation.

“The way she went about it was wrong,” he said. “She lied and said it was a home video, and it wasn’t. That it wasn’t produced, and she didn’t seek out the contract. But she actually made an adult film.”

As The Ashley told you years ago, Farrah was fired for a variety of reasons, some of which had nothing to do with her adult film career. As numerous crew and producer sources told The Ashley back in 2018, Farrah treated most of the people working for the show terribly, something Tyler brought up during his Live.

“She didn’t get fired only for [her sex industry career],” he said. “She got fired because she was a mean person. I think Farrah at this point in our age could admit that she treated people poorly. I hope she’d be able to come to that conclusion at least, or understanding.”

“CLEARLY you don’t know me very well, Tyler!”

Still, he said he regrets the treatment Farrah got for being in the adult industry.

“I’ve come to the conclusion that the way she was vilified– for that aspect, not her personality, for that video– [was wrong]. I’m sorry she was treated that way,” he said.

Last year, Farrah publicly called Tyler a “hypocrite” for starting an OnlyFans after shaming her adult industry offerings years ago. She took to Instagram Live at the time to give her thoughts on Tyler displaying his [girl] baby-maker on the pay site (among other body parts.)

Farrah claimed that it was unfair that she fired from ‘Teen Mom OG’ due to her adult industry activities, but other ‘Teen Mom’ stars who have done adult industry work since then are still on the show.

“They’re on the same platforms that I’m on, yet I’m the only one that got fired!” Farrah said.

At the time, Tyler disagreed with Farrah, stating that what he was posting to OnlyFans was very different from what Farrah had done.

“To be fair, I’m NOT doing p0rn at all!” Tyler wrote. “Cate is just sharing the stuff that I personally send to her lol! There’s no sex involved or even videos on the page she’s running. I didn’t go to a p0rn production company, hire adult film stars & crew, have sex on camera, pretend that it was some ‘leaked’ personal footage, or make genital molds to sell…But I get why some people are comparing it to my former cast member’s endeavors TBH & that’s totally valid! I just wanted to clarify what type of content is actually being shared on there in case anyone thought otherwise.”

Farrah has yet to respond to Tyler’s [sorta] apology to her.

Ashley Jones Reveals “Hostage” Scene on ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter’ Season Finale Was Recreated for Cameras

Ashley’s thoughts on reenacting traumatic events on-camera to secure that MTV paycheck..

Ashley Jones is pulling back the curtain on Thursday’s episode of ‘Teen Mom: The Next Chapter,’ revealing to viewers that some of the events were reenacted for MTV cameras.

As The Ashley previously told you, Ashley’s estranged husband, Bar Smith, was arrested in July and charged with second-degree kidnapping, residential burglary, aggravated stalking and coercion constituting domestic violence– all felony-level– after allegedly holding Ashley hostage in her apartment and threatening to harm her. On this week’s episode of ‘Teen Mom,’ viewers get to see what transpired before Bar made “an unexpected visit to Las Vegas,” though Ashley told fans that they wouldn’t be seeing the actual incident unfold on camera.

Bar, wondering if he’ll still get paid for this episode, despite not actually appearing on camera…

“This is a RECREATION,” Ashley commented on the clip of the scene posted to the official ‘Teen Mom’ Instagram page. “MTV was not there when this transpired. … All reality tv is staged … literally. Because no one is being followed 24/7 by a film crew.”

Later in the comments, Ashley clarified that the 911 call her mom, Tea Chapple, made at the time– which The Ashley exclusively obtained in August– was NOT a reenactment, as the audio had “somehow” been “leaked to [the] press weeks ago.”

As fans saw on last week’s episode, Ashley claimed she was finally filing for divorce, though in the clip from this week’s episode, she tells viewers that, because she and Bar tied the knot in California, Bar– who was living/on probation in California– would have to be the one to file. When a viewer in the comment section insisted that Ashley didn’t actually have to file for divorce in the same state that she got married and that her claiming so made her sound “dumb [as f**k],” Ashley attempted to set the record straight.

“ … wrong babe,” she replied to the comment. “But since you know everything I’ll expand your knowledge. He drafted CALI divorce papers which I needed to sign and send back. The CALI papers are filed in CALI. And since he was in the county we got married, he thought it would be faster for him to file. But I’m sure you knew that …”

Catelynn Lowell Addresses Fans’ Opinions That She “Coddles” Amber Portwood Despite Amber’s Poor Parenting

“Amber, I came here– on your own turf, the loveseat— to lay some truth down.”

Catelynn Lowell took a break from chatting about her bio daughter Carly’s adoptive parents to address another topic that’s being discussed in the Teen Mom World: her and Maci Bookout‘s “coddling” of co-star Amber, despite Amber’s lack of parenting of her teen daughter, Leah Shirley.

During a Live interview with YouTuber Rei on Wednesday, Catelynn was asked to comment on her treatment of Amber who, as ‘Next Chapter’ fans have seen this season, had gone more than seven months without seeing Leah. Viewers also saw Leah’s dad, Gary Shirley, tell Maci and Cate that Leah has asked if her stepmom, Kristina, could adopt her. Rei compared that situation to Catelynn’s adoption situation with Carly and asked Catelynn to explain why she wasn’t more honest with Amber about how she’s treating Leah.

“Even when we did speak up with Gary— and, of course, TV is not going to show everything— but I did tell Gary, ‘You need to do whatever Leah feels is best for her.’ And I told Gary, ‘And I know you will do that for her’ because him and Kristina, that’s what they do. They are just great parents. And I told him that.”

“Um…obviously you’re forgetting about another damn good mom in this situation, Cate!”

“Whatever the outcome is, or whatever Leah is wanting to do– because she’s at a great age to know what she wants in her life— [I told Gary to] support that,” she added.

Catelynn insisted that she does call Amber out when necessary.

“I’m very good at talking with Amber,” she said. “I’m like, ‘Girl, can’t you understand why Leah feels like this?'”

Rei pointed out that ‘Teen Mom’ fans don’t really see Catelynn laying down the truth on Amber, but Catelynn insisted that she does.

Basically all ‘Teen Mom’ fans upon reading that last sentence…

“When Amber brought up, ‘Oh Leah thinks that every time I get a new boyfriend I just forget about her,’ and right there at the table I said, ‘Amber, can’t you see the pattern of why Leah feels like that or thinks like that?’ And Amber was like, ‘Yes I can, 100 percent.’

“I’m not the type of friend who is just gonna go, ‘Oh, yep, you’re the greatest. You didn’t make any mistakes,’ Cate continued. “Amber knows. We’ve talked about it before where I tell her, ‘Girl, you’ve made a lot of mistakes and this is why Leah feels the way that she does.’

Catelynn did agree that, in the scenes from ‘Next Chapter,’ it “absolutely” shows her coddling Amber.

“I’m like, ‘Couldn’t you guys put in everything that we talked about?'” Catelynn said. “Because I’m that type of friend, too, where I hold my friends accountable.”

What all of us are thinking…

“If you’re doing great stuff, I’m gonna be like, ‘Dude, that’s freakin’ awesome. I’m so proud of you.’ But if you’re doing messed up things too, I’m gonna be the type that’s gonna be like, ‘Girl, can’t we do this a little better? What can we do to fix this, you know?’ And that’s how I was with her that weekend.

“…but they did play it off, like, ‘Lookit, they’re just coddling her’ but actually, no, we had some really deep conversations,” Cate continued, adding that Amber even thanked her for making her think of another perspective.

“I’m like, ‘Girl, you have to or it’s never going to change.’ And that’s just how we are as friends.”

Catelynn admitted, though, that she is gentle in her approach with Amber.

Catelynn, bringing in at least one therapy horse (and preferably a chest protector) whenever she’s about to bring up a negative topic with Amber…

“I do it in a very friendly way,” Catelynn said. “I’m not gonna be like, ‘Oh, you’re a piece of s**t. This is why she doesn’t want to be around you.’ I’m more like, ‘Can’t you understand?’ And Amber even said, ‘Yeah, I can understand why she has those feelings.’ And I told her, ‘Well if you want to change those feelings, consistency is key. Keep showing up, ya know?’

“But also, at the end of the day if [a relationship with Amber is] something Leah doesn’t want, and Gary is hearing that, I know Gary will tell her that,” continued Catelynn. “Gary just has to take the brunt of whatever Leah wants, at the end of the day.”

Chris Lopez Uses Convo With Kail Lowry’s Former Nanny to Call Out Kail For “Coparenting Struggles”

“You know what they say…’the enemy of my enemy baby mama is my friend.'”

Chris Lopez– one of Kail Lowry’s four baby daddies– took to social media this week to expound on the coparenting challenges he’s had– and allegedly, continues to have– with Kail, while also revealing his unexpected friendship with the former ‘Teen Mom 2’ star’s former nanny, Natalie, who fell out with Kail earlier this year.

During an Instagram Q&A this week, Chris was asked what the “hardest challenge” is that he faces with Kail, to which he replied, “the lies..the manipulation..the false image..”

Along with his response, Chris– who shares sons Lux and Creed with Kail, as well as a third child with another woman– posted a screenshot of an alleged conversation between him and Natalie, who at the time, was still employed as a nanny by Kail. In the conversation, Chris questioned Natalie about a South Carolina trip that Kail went on with her three oldest sons Isaac, Lincoln and Lux; Natalie confirmed in the texts that Creed (aka “Biggie”) stayed home with her during the trip and claimed Kail “flew us out the next [morning] so she wouldn’t get caught not abiding the custody order” she has with Chris.

While later discussing the screenshot he had posted, Chris claimed that the incident was “just a small example of what it’s been like trying to be an active dad” in his sons’ lives.

“This post is simply to say no more,” Chris wrote. “This specific incident happened in 2023 and I still deal with similar situation in 2024. I’m not expecting immediate change but the longer we stay quiet about this type of stuff or continue to act like these type of things aren’t happening, the easier we make it for ppl to continue to do and get away with it. If you have a parent wanting to be apart of the kids’ lives, why try to stop it?”

Chris also shared a video that he had taken outside of Kail’s house on the day of the incident back in 2023, which he filmed from the inside of his vehicle. Chris pointed out Natalie’s car in the clip, noting that one police officer had already arrived at the home and a second was currently pulling up.

“ … We are currently at Kail’s house trying to figure out where Creed is because Natalie isn’t answering the phone and telling me the whereabouts of my son,” Chris said in the video. “And Kail, the mother, is not replying to me and declined my calls when I have it in the [custody] order, it states that I’m allowed to have my child. I just want to know where my child is.”

“What do you expect me to do…just TELL YOU where he is?!”

Later Chris posted another message to Instagram Stories regarding the feedback he received after posting about the incident and calling out Kail.

“The comments prove my point lol,” Chris wrote. “They call you bitter, they call you obsessed, they say you attention-seeking, but will overlook the principle…using kids as a weapon. Why should that stay behind closed doors?? Y’all call men out for cheating, y’all call men out of domestic violence, y’all even call me out for being a terrible [father], but the minute someone calls a woman out or holds them accountable, it’s a problem? A man WANTING to be with his children is a problem??”

While Chris posted the video and text screenshot to provide an example of his and Kail’s “coparenting struggles,” some fans were more focused on the fact that Chris seemingly has– or at least HAD– a friendship with Natalie, whom Kail has reportedly been feuding with since February.

As The Ashley previously told you, Natalie began subtly calling out her former friend and employer on social media earlier this year via memes and messages that don’t mention the mom of seven by name, but certainly seem to be aimed at her.

One of Natalie’s many social media digs…

The reason behind Kail and Natalie’s alleged fallout has yet to be revealed; however, the two appeared to be on good terms in late 2023, with Kail even sharing a clip of her revealing to Natalie that she was expecting twins.

Kail has yet to respond to Chris’ latest call out, nor has she commented on Chris and Natalie’s text exchange.
