“Teen Mom” star Cheyenne Floyd is opening up about the devastating destruction her hometown of Altadena, California, has faced because of the Eaton Fire.
While speaking to Us Weekly on January 16, alongside her husband Zach Davis, Floyd noted that she “was born and raised in Altadena.” She spoke of her hometown fondly, describing it as “such a special place” and “gorgeous.”
“The trees and the mountains and the houses had so much character, and then it’s also special because that was one of the first places that opened up to allow Black people to buy homes over there. A lot of those houses are 4/5th generational homes, and that’s gone,” said Floyd to the publication.
She also shared that her “childhood home is at the top of where everything was happening and where the fires were really, really bad.”
“The church that we grew up in, the schools, the grocery stores, our favorite pastrami shop, every single thing is gone. It’s just devastating,” said Floyd while speaking to Us Weekly.
Floyd made similar comments about her beloved hometown in a January 12 Instagram upload.
“My city is gone, and my heart is broken. To say my family is devastated is an understatement. The homes where we built so many memories, our church, the schools, and the businesses we’ve loved and supported for years are no longer standing,” wrote Floyd in the caption.
She also mentioned that she made an Amazon wishlist, where individuals can purchase items for those in need because of the Los Angeles wildfires.
While speaking to Us Weekly, Floyd discussed establishing an Amazon wishlist to benefit those impacted by the fires. Floyd also said that she and her husband have been organizing the packages in their Los Angeles home and the Sherman Oaks salon StarSuites Beauty Salon.
During the interview with Us Weekly, Davis said that he is “beyond proud of” his wife for her efforts.
“This started as something she didn’t think would be as big. She thought maybe 100 packages or 200 orders, but it ended up being over 3,000. I feel blessed as a husband to be able to have a wife on my side who’s willing and able to do this and use the platform for the greater good. It’s a blessing,” said Davis to Us Weekly.
Floyd gave an update about the Amazon wishlist in a January 16 Instagram upload. In the caption of the post, she shared that she and those helping her “distributed over 3,000 new products to churches, assisted living facilities, and schools!” She then thanked those who purchased items from the wishlist.
“This is absolutely amazing—thank you, thank you, thank you for making this possible!” wrote Floyd.
Several fans shared they appreciated Floyd in the post’s comments section.
“You and your family and some of your friends and neighbors are all heroes in my eyes! What you have done and all continue to do is beyond incredible! May God continue to bless you and your family!!!! Thank you for all you do for those in need!❤️❤️❤️❤️,” wrote a commenter.
