Cheyenne Floyd sought outside help after her six-year-old daughter Ryder was called a racial slur on Thursday's episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter on MTV.
The 31-year-old reality star met up with her friend Zaina at Los Toros Mexican Restaurant and told her about the incident with Ryder that occurred when her husband Zach Davis and Ryder's father Cory Wharton were on a guys-only trip with other men from the MTV franchise.
'The last day they were there, I took the kids to an indoor play thing, and then all of a sudden, I see Ryder come down. Ryder is sobbing,' Cheyenne told Zaina over margaritas.
'So it gets explained that basically the boy called Ryder the n-word. And I'm like, ''Oh, f***'' and Ryder is distraught,' Cheyenne said.
Zaina said it was heartbreaking that Ryder had her 'first encounter of being on the side of getting a racist slur.'

'I was just so upset, and I think I was more upset because Ryder was looking at me like, you're not about to do anything? Even though I grew up in a very pro-black home, I feel like when the bold s*** happened, I got stuck. I didn't know how to even react,' Cheyenne revealed.
Cheyenne said she was determined to educate herself so she could guide Ryder and told Zaina about an organization she found that could help. She planned to include Cory and his girlfriend Taylor in the conversation as well as Zach.
Later, Cheyenne met with Cory to discuss the incident and her plan to get advice on how to help Ryder.
'Daddy growing up didn't respond well to when I was called that. You know what I mean?,' said Cory who has a white mother and black father.
Cheyenne said she grew up in a home that talked about race.
'In my house it wasn't like that. I was raised by my white mother. We never talked about color. Even when these situations would arise and like I'd be getting racist phone calls and things like that...,' Cory said.
Cheyenne interjected and asked if he told his mother and Cory said not and that he would usually 'keep it all in'.
'I couldn't imagine the things that I've gone through and come home, and then I'm just sitting there, and it's like no one's talking about it. Or I don't have a place to talk about it and feel like I'm heard or understood. It's like you just had to deal with that by yourself,' Cheyenne said.
Cheyenne told Cory about the group Color Of Change that helps parents educate themselves on how to speak properly to children about racial issues.

Cory agreed that it was a good idea and shared that Taylor was really upset about the incident and wanted to learn how to help, too.
Cheyenne, Zach, Cory and Taylor later participated in a group video call with Brittany Hogan from Color of Change and asked for advice on how to talk to Ryder without shattering her innocence.
'I think that one of the best ways of being able to do this, I feel like, is through books, especially when it comes to stories that you're reading with her in the evening before bed, having conversations. There are so many stories that tell the stories of Black people who stood up for themselves and showing the power of what it means to be Black, and then also showing us just loving and living and thriving and feeling worthy,' Brittany said.
She also encouraged them to have ongoing conversations about race especially considering their different backgrounds and to prioritize what's best for Ryder.
Cory loved the books idea and Cheyenne ordered a children's book called 'Preaching to the Chickens' that she read with Ryder.
'You know how mommy's always telling you to be an advocate for yourself and to stand up for yourself? That's the same thing. Sometimes you can stand up for yourself, and sometimes you help to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves,' Cheyenne told Ryder as they read the book.

The season two episode also showed Jenelle Evans, 32, dealing with anxiety as she returned to North Carolina for a court hearing to obtain a restraining order against her estranged husband David Eason.
'I don't feel safe when I'm in North Carolina because I don't know if or where I can run into David. I think that's David's white truck. David's just capable of intimidating me. I feel harassed. I feel stalked. Now, every white truck on the highway I'm staring at, and I don't know if it's him,' Jenelle said.
She was visibly shaken and on the verge of tears on the day of the court hearing.
'I keep having panic attacks. I keep thinking about how I have to go on stand. It's just all very scary. I'm, like, shaking, but I got to do it. I'm really sick of feeling this way. And just even though he's not here, it's like I'm still walking on eggshells, which sucks,' she said.
Jenelle later called Briana DeJesus to share the outcome of the hearing.,
'My restraining order between me and David got put in place. That includes the kids,' Jenelle said.
Jenelle returned to Las Vegas and signed the lease on a two-story house for her family as she sought a fresh start.

Leah Messer, 32, was shown struggling co-parenting her daughter Addie with her ex-husband Jeremy Calvert.
Addie asked to spend more time with Leah's ex Corey Simms and their twin daughters Aliannah and Aleeah.
Corey offered his advice to his daughters with Addie, who was struggling after Leah obtained a restraining order against Jeremy.
'So the best thing to do, I think, to help her would be just to, like, let her talk about it. Just listen. Mainly listen to her,' Corey told the twins.
Leah later had a talk with Addie about her request to spend more time at Corey's house.
'Well, it's probably not going to happen right now, but I'm sure it's something that we can explore in the future. You know?,' Leah said.
Leah suggested counseling after pointing out to Addie that it would be a safe place to explore her emotions.
Addie agreed to try counseling, but Jeremy refused to sign the consent form so she could attend therapy sessions.

Leah vented to her friend Nicole.
'Jeremy doesn't want to sign the consent for Addie to go to counseling,' Leah said.
'Why?,' Nicole asked.
'He doesn't even give a reason,' Leah said.
'That's ridiculous' Nicole said.
'It's ridiculous because what are you benefiting from that? What are you gaining from her not going? Are you afraid she's going to say something to the counselor that would get you in trouble?,' Leah said.
Leah said her only alternative was to call her family attorney.
'It does feel like everything with Jeremy is going to get more and more dysfunctional,' Lea said.
She added in a confessional: 'It's really challenging to try to have a relationship with a toxic ex. And over time I have covered up many things to make sure she had a good relationship with her father, probably because I didn't have a good relationship with my father. And I wanted to make sure that my kids never experienced that.
Leah added that she was trying the best she can and the episode ended with her looking worried as Addie looked bummed while playing with her food.
The episode also showed Jade Cline and Sean Austin celebrating Kloie's first day at a new school.
