Teresa Giudice suggested it’s been “annoying” to be on TV for the “the past 10 years” with her brother Joe Gorga and his wife Melissa Gorga, and said she only talks about him when she’s “asked” about their relationship. Plus, her husband Luis Ruelas shared that “nobody would know about [Joe]” if it “wasn’t for [Teresa].”
Teresa began the Real Housewives of New Jersey in season 1. She’s maintained that Melissa and Joe secretly joined the cast behind her back two seasons later. Throughout the seasons, the siblings have fallen in and out of friendly terms, though their relationship is now nonexistent. Many fans claim Melissa and Joe’s main storyline centers on Teresa. But last season, Teresa largely refused to film with them.
“I don’t want to talk about my brother,” said Teresa on Luis’ Instagram Live during a get-together with some guests at their house, after one of the guests seemingly asked about him. “The only time I ever talk about my brother is when I get asked a question. And unfortunately the fans, [who] have been watching for a long time, [want to know] so I answer the question.”
“But I do not want to talk about them,” she continued, via @realhousewifeofwestchester on Instagram. “I’ve been on TV for … the past 10 years, and I’ve been with them, that’s why it’s so annoying. But I really don’t want to talk about them. They’re not in my life anymore.”
Luis then told a guest, “Don’t talk about my brother[-in-law], please. Cause nobody would know about him if it wasn’t for [Teresa].”
In a 2022 interview for the The Juicy Scoop podcast, a former RHONJ producer confirmed that Teresa was blindsided by Melissa’s casting in season 3.
“She had no idea,” shared Carlos King. “This is a week before filming was supposed to commence [at Joey Gorga’s christening] … [Teresa told me], ‘Oh my gosh, I just learned that my sister-in-law and my brother are cast members on this show. I did not know that until now.’ She had no idea.”
Carlos added, “She [was] freaking out, ‘What should I do? … I don’t know Carlos, this is crazy. That’s my family. I don’t want to fight with my family.'”
