“The Bachelor” star Joey Graziadei joined “Dancing With the Stars” in Season 33 and took home the Mirrorball Trophy. His performance alongside professional dancer Jenna Johnson earned rave reviews and endeared him to fans even more. But could he be returning to the show in a different capacity?
Graziadei is not signing back onto DWTS (although many fans would love that), but there has been some interest in whether his fiancée, Kelsey Anderson, would be interested in joining Season 34.
“I feel like that’s an opportunity that’s so amazing,” Anderson told Page Six on May 16. “I think I couldn’t say ‘no’ to it. I think it’s amazing.” She also praised the long-running series and the people who work tirelessly to make it a success. “All the people that work on the show, from in front of the screens to behind the screens, are all so amazing, so yeah, I would definitely say ‘yes’ if they came to me and were like, ‘Please,’” she said.
Graziadei had a fantastic experience on DWTS, which also upped his fitness levels. “It’s crazy … I think that’s such a good workout,” Anderson said of Graziadei’s time onstage.
Anderson has given her inclusion in the show some serious thought (although only Robert Irwin has been announced as a celebrity contestant for Season 34). She also has a professional dancer partner in mind: Val Chmerkovskiy. Speaking of why she would choose him, she said, “I feel like I gotta go, Val. Joey had Jenna. I feel we could bring the mirrorball trophy home.”
Anderson also praised Chmerkovskiy for being “iconic” but mentioned being a “fan” of Ezra Sosa.
Graziadei has been open about his time on DWTS and what it meant to him, including penning a heartfelt Instagram post thanking his “amazing partner,” Johnson, and reflecting on his journey.
Johnson was initially hesitant to work alongside Graziadei. “I had a feeling because I heard his name in the mix, and so I was a little sad because I’ve been promised — not promised — but I’ve never had a football player,” Johnson said on an episode of “The Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast” in September 2024 of working with “The Bachelor” star. “Through my time on the show, I’ve never had a football player.”
Despite her initial disappointment, Johnson was incredibly impressed when she got to know Graziadei. “He is one of the most genuine humans I’ve ever met,” she said. “I think we just connected really easily and quickly, and we have so much fun.” She also called him “such a pleasure to work with.”
