Joan Vassos reveals what her real first impression of Chock Chapple was when they first met on The Golden Bachelorette.

In an interview with Woman's World, Joan revealed that her first impression of Chock was that he joined The Golden Bachelorette for the right reasons because he knew about her and her life. She explained, "It’s all about an interaction in the beginning and when he walked up to me, he knew all about my family. He knew all my kids’ names and he brought the chicken noodle recipe I had made on TikTok. I knew he was there just for me. He wasn’t there for anything else. He had all the right intentions. So, immediately, he caught my eye."

However, after their initial meeting, Joan still wondered if Chock had a fun side to him. She said, "I still had this one question in my mind about him, which was, is it going to be fun? And that’s why I gave him that first date to Disneyland. You need to explore the people that you’re most interested in early on, because you don’t have a long time to get to know them. So, you have to pick your top contenders in the beginning."

Joan also shared that, although she knew that Chock was special early on, she wanted to be sure about him, so she kept an open mind about the other men. She explained, "But I was also really careful, because people will hone in on a certain person and then find out part way through the season they’re not really the person that they thought they were—and then they’re really behind. So, I kind of honed in on Chock pretty early, but kept an open mind with everybody else. But he was always lingering."

What Joan’s First Impression Of Chock Means For Relationship

Joan Always Knew That Chock Was The One

Although Joan formed some strong connections with a few of the other Golden Bachelorette men, including runner-up Guy Gansert and third-place finisher Pascal Ibgui, none of them could compare to her relationship with Chock. It was very apparent from the beginning of the season that Joan knew Chock was The One, and the fact that she said goodbye to Guy early, before he had the chance to meet her family, was the right decision. In addition, Joan didn't tell anyone but Chock that she loved him, which was very refreshing to see.

Chock always made the effort to give Joan all of his attention, which rubbed the other men the wrong way, especially on the bowling group date when he was constantly by her side, but Joan loved it because she was falling in love with him. Their relationship seemed meant-to-be from the start, especially because Chock arrived on The Golden Bachelorette premiere night already having taken an interest in Joan, her family, and her hobbies. This was the perfect foundation for a beautiful relationship.

Our Take On Chock Chapple Having "The Right Intentions"

Chock Was Always There For The Right Reasons

It was clear from the beginning that Chock was on The Golden Bachelorette for Joan. His heart was always in the right place, and he always put her first. When his mother passed away during filming, he had to leave to go home for a bit, but he returned to Joan, proving that he didn't want their journey to end. After that, they wanted to spend as much time together as possible, and, although Joan felt that she should also explore her relationships with the other men, it was clear that Chock would be her choice in the end.

Joan and Chock's first one-on-one date in Disneyland was like a fairy tale. It proved to her that he had the fun side that she was hoping for, and that he was also so incredibly romantic. The Golden Bachelorette stars are perfect for each other, and hopefully they'll live happily ever after.
