The Valley star Jax Taylor is revealing more post-treatment diagnoses. He entered a mental health facility where he was there for nearly a month. That helped him sort out a variety of issues in his life and learn he had Bipolar Disorder as well as PTSD. Now, the father of Cruz, 3, is sharing even more details about himself and who he is. Keep reading for more on his additional diagnoses.
The Valley Jax Taylor Reveals More Diagnoses Post-Treatment
Jax Taylor has claimed he wanted to work on his mental health for a very long time but he was never fully committed. Even when he went to therapy or tried Reiki, it was more of a game to him. Maybe he saw what was wrong but did not have the energy to dig deep enough to rectify the situation. Jax was constantly alleging he was working on himself, making him sound like a broken record. He was often called out about this by his former Vanderpump Rules co-stars and even their reunion host Andy Cohen.
A true breaking point was when his wife, Brittany Cartwright took their son, Cruz, and left their Valley Village home. She moved them into an Airbnb and announced their split at the end of February 2024. Though some believed it was a publicity stunt due to the upcoming premiere of The Valley, it was not. By the time Season 2 rolled around, things had clearly become so bad for Jax that he had to do something so he entered treatment. He went to a mental health facility and was ultimately diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and PTSD.
Now that he is back to filming The Valley and working on his podcast When Reality Hits, he is speaking out even more. According to Us Weekly, Jax Taylor shared even more diagnoses on the latest episode of the podcast. They are more self-diagnosed from what he learned in treatment as one follower asked if he was a narcissist:
“I’m going to be honest with this. Yes, I do agree. I’ve literally learned probably five new terms that I’ve never heard before that. I’m probably going to get in trouble for saying this, but I do all of them. I’ve done them all for years and I had no idea.”
He added that along with being a narcissist, there’s a list of terms he has learned apply to him:
“I am a narcissist, yes. I breadcrumb, I love bomb [and also] gaslighting. I’m missing some but I do all these things. I had no idea there were terms for these things.”
Solo Time
When Reality Hits started with Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, but they have since decided to record solo episodes. Brittany filed for divorce from Jax after five years of marriage shortly after he left treatment. It allegedly happened on camera so this particular podcast was all about Jax answering listener questions. Now, as far as his new plethora of diagnoses, including being a narcissist, Jax made it clear he did not consult a medical professional:
“I look up the definition for all these new terms and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I do that. I do that too.’ I don’t even know how to talk anymore without being labeled as one of these things. So yes, I have to humble myself and say, ‘Do you think you’re a narcissist?’ And I do. I don’t know how I became one. [But] I do believe I’m a narcissist.”
Therefore, he may be all or none of these things aside from the two diagnoses (Bipolar and PTSD) which he left treatment with. The bar owner went on to note:
“I am not a doctor, so I can’t say that for sure. But by just looking up the definition, I have to agree. I have to agree with people calling me a narcissist. I can’t fight them on that because I do have pretty much everything that’s labeled under a narcissist. And I’ve been this person for years and I had no idea. I was never held accountable for my actions for many years until recently — until people have had enough.”
