Rylee Arnold, unfortunately, had to cut her time short on the “Dancing With the Stars” tour after suffering an ankle injury in March. Her sister, Lindsay Arnold, is weighing in on the very difficult decision, praising Rylee for doing the right thing to heal.
Lindsay knows the “DWTS” grind all too well after competing on the show for 10 seasons as a pro dancer. She also knows what it’s like to push through an injury and continue dancing, so she was particularly proud of her sister’s decision to sit out the tour.
In an April interview with Us Weekly, Lindsay noted that Rylee made the “toughest decision ever” to take the proper time to get better.
“She’s doing so well. I’m really proud of her,” Lindsay said. “Because when you’re a dancer, you’re kind of trained with this mentality to just push through pain to just make it happen. The show must go on.”
Lindsay noted that her sister’s decision “was so hard.” She shared, “Like I said, as a dancer I don’t care if I’m hurt — we’ve got to perform. But I’m really proud of her for choosing her health.”
She also shared that it’s important to have enough time to get over an injury. “That just will drastically affect the rest of her career,” Lindsay said. “You never know what could have happened. So I’m really proud of her for taking the time to heal.”
Lindsay added, “She’s feeling so much better — and I think it’s just such good timing that she has a little bit of time now to rest before next season.”
Like every other “DWTS” fan, Lindsay said she’s eager to find out who is joining the cast for season 34.
Lindsay told Us Weekly, “I want to know everything. It’s very much my personality. I don’t really love to be surprised. I like to know things.”
Robert Irwin was the first star announced for “DWTS” season 34, but fans will need to wait to find out who else is joining the cast.
Lindsay said she hopes her sister is paired with Irwin. “That would be such an amazing pairing,” she noted. “It’s kind of funny because Rylee was putting that out there. She was like, ‘I would love to be partnered with Robert Irwin.’ So it’s so cool that he’s going to be on the show.”
Lindsay also shared, “Whoever gets him is in for a treat.”
She explained, “I’ve met him and he’s so kind. His sister, Bindi [Irwin], is incredible. So whoever gets him would be amazing. Of course I’m rooting for my sister though because I think that would be so cool.”
