Despite being one of reality TV’s most reviled traitors of all time, Tom Sandoval hasn’t really given us much yet on Season 3 of The Traitors.
That is, except for perhaps the most obvious and seemingly inappropriately-timed pit stains of all time. After Episode 2 aired, the Vanderpump Rules’ villain’s unfortunate underarm moisture went viral. He recently took to his Instagram Stories to explain the circumstances behind the pits that sent many a dry heave throughout the land.
Tom Sandoval says losing his luggage led to him having to wear a sweat-inducing sweater
Tom admitted in a now-obsolete January 23 Instagram Story, “Man, that video, I looked rough.” He continued, “I also felt like sh*t. I mean, I had, like, over 24 hours of travel, including an eight-hour layover, which made my immune system go to sh*t and cause the domino of problems. I’m sure you could tell my eye was swollen because I got a stye in my eye, and the stress and the weakened immune system caused canker sores, sore throat.”
Another reason he was already in full-on sweats at the breakfast table? His luggage didn’t make it to Scotland, where the show was filmed. He explained, “I was at the mercy of the wardrobe department, which, by the way, they did a great job.”
Still, there was one outfit he couldn’t forget: “They gave me the thickest wool sweater I’ve ever worn. And man, that thing, I was sweating my ass off. It was hot in there. And well, I’m only human.”
Looking back, Sandoval seems to be taking the jokes in stride. “At least I can laugh at it now, as you guys all have,” he added.
In addition to his struggling gray t-shirt, Tom has also been having it out with his Traitors castlemate, Chrishell Stause. The Selling Sunset star/good friend of Tom’s ex, Ariana Madix, has kept her foot on his neck.
Tom accused her of being a Traitor without any evidence. In response, she called his gameplay “terrible.”
“To be honest with you, there was no other reason for him saying my name,” she said. “He just said it so blatantly that he knew I was a Traitor. Of course, he’s going to act like, ‘Oh, I really was just playing the game.’ To me, it felt personal, and you probably can’t change your mind at this point.”
We’ll have to wait and see if Chrishell’s theory that Tom’s pointing his finger at her will work in her favor. “I felt like he was so loud and so wrong,” she explained. “It really felt like whoever he says [the Traitor] is, we probably know it isn’t. So I think it helped in my case, to be honest.”
We can probably all agree on one thing: fortunately, smellovision has yet to be invented.
The Traitors streams on Peacock with new episodes dropping every Thursday.
