Tyler Cameron & Girlfriend Tate Madden Dish on Their Relationship and Share First ‘I Love You’ Story

Bachelor Nation fans got to know Tyler Cameron as he looked for love on Season 15 of “The Bachelorette.”

Since his time on the show, Tyler found love off-screen with his girlfriend Tate Madden and we couldn’t be happier for him!

The two have stayed somewhat private with their relationship online but recently have been sharing more about their lives together.

And in a recent interview on “The Viall Files,” Tyler and Tate dished more on their relationship, including sharing their first “I love you” story.

Tate revealed that after being friends for a while, the two decided to start dating and she unintentionally told Tyler that she loved him.

“We hadn’t said ‘I love you’ yet, it was probably a couple months into dating,” she shared. “We went on a brand trip to Aspen, and it was one of those moments where he was in the shower and I was in the bathroom doing my makeup or something. And I was giggling about something he said and I was like, ‘Hahaha, I love you’ because he said something stupid. And I was like, ‘No, no, it’s fine, I love you’ or something like that. It slipped out and I just immediately got quiet and I was like, ‘Oh, I hope he didn’t hear that. What do I do now?...[There was] probably like a 10-second pause and he just goes, ‘Tate, you’re the best.’”

Tyler chimed in and explained that he wanted to tell Tate he loved her back when it was the right moment.

“Okay, here’s my thing. Love is a very, very strong word,” he said. “I don’t believe in just saying ‘I love you’ to say ‘I love you.’ I think that’s very hypocritical… And so I’m not gonna tell you that until I can fully say I do mean it, you know what I mean? Like, love you as a friend, sure. But love you as someone who I romantically wanna be in love with is a different thing. And it took me until Mother’s Day actually [to say it.]”

Tate then spilled how she felt about Tyler not saying it back right away, and revealed more about their relationship.

She shared, “I actually appreciate it because I think he has always been an open book and I was friends with him and I’m friends with his friends who’ve seen him through all of his relationships. And they always said… he would go all in and then it would always crash and burn. I was like, ‘Wow, he’s being so much more delicate and careful with me rather than the other girls.’”
